Crispy Fried Nian Gao

Ingredients:
Nian Gao
Orange sweet potato
Purple sweet potato/taro
Crispy batter​:
Plain flour 100g
Rice flour 50g
Corn flour 30g
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
210ml water
1 tablespoon oil
After stirring evenly, leave it for 15 minutes
practice:
1. Peel the Nian Gao, purple sweet potato and orange sweet potato, cut into appropriate sizes, and set aside.
2. Combine the purple sweet potato, Nian Gao and orange sweet potato into a piece, and then dip them into batter.
3. Add oil and fry on medium heat until both sides are golden and crispy. Drain the oil and enjoy.

    Thank you Shadajie! I didn't have corn flour so I replaced it with tapioca flour but your recipe turned out really well! The crispiness of the batter is just like how my grandma and dad made them last time.

    Kepada Seen Peng Chong.. Jika kamu hendak Kueh Bakul yang lembut, masa sudah Steam dalam 8 jam, kueh bakul manis, lembeh dan wangi.. Haya Kueh bakul sebelum goreng ia keras, habis goreng sudah jadi lembut ya.. Mr Seen, soalan kamu saperti budak budak main ma ma sak, gd job..     加点水再调至稀一些,这是因为每个粉吸水程度有点不一样

    Amount of baking powder she used is also different. Her ratio definitely made the batter turns out better like how I'd had them at home. And most fried nian gao recipe is similar. Who is to say Katherine kwa doesn't get her recipe from someone else.
