CRISPR technology is now targeting RNA-based diseases | Patrick Hsu | TEDxSanDiegoSalon

CRISPR technologies are opening up a new world of possibilities for manipulating our genetic information, and using CRISPR to target RNA is opening up new possibilities for treating debilitating RNA-based diseases, such as removing toxic RNAs in the brain or defending against RNA-based viruses like influenza or Zika.
With RNA-targeting we don’t have to make permanent changes in our DNA, which could be safer. Because RNA messages go up and down over time, we will eventually be able to control when a CRISPR therapeutic is acting, so it’s only turned on in the cells that have the toxic RNA. This could lead to safer gene therapies. Patrick Hsu, Ph.D. is a Principal Investigator and Salk Helmsley Fellow at the Salk Institute. The Hsu Lab employs an interdisciplinary approach for discovery-based synthetic biology to develop new avenues for cell design and control, with applications in gene and engineered-cell therapeutics for neurodegeneration and cancer. Working at the Broad Institute and the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT, he contributed to the early development of CRISPR-Cas9 genome engineering technologies. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Nah, they're living in the past...🤔 I can't even laugh... I tried but this just isn't funny. They can turn our skin cells into t cells, which can be any cell, right... I wonder how many flesh suits they've created for their demons... Bill gates went from coding electronics to controlling and manipulating the weather like when he sprayed chemicals over Texas in 2019 June or July it was in the news... To coding humans DNA.... Someone has a god complex! Last time creation attempted to collectively mock GOD they were forced to learn a different kind of code since their bet language was confused! 🤣 They've been coding and cursing, crafting spells and concoctions ever since.
