    First Things First: Cris Carter and Nick Wright The fundamental problem with CC's argument is that it's based on emotion instead of logic. It's a fact that every sport is tainted and testing is always out paced by innovation. So, it's absurd to count out people who were caught because someone else outed them without acknowledging all of the people who made it through in secrecy.

    I agree with CC, but following his logic with regard to HGH and the football hall, should Peyton Manning be kept out then? The evidence that he used HGH is pretty irrefutable.

Taking a wild guess anyone familar with Dwight Gooden and his drug uses i think was because of him being shy. i do think even coffee, chewing tabacco anything thst makes you play better is a enhancer.

Pete Rose holds the all time hit record, he is also not in the hall. The baseball Hall of Fame isnt a history museum, its about the individual players, and what they meant to the game. Shoeless Joe, Pete Rose, and Barry Bonds tarnished the game's reputation, and their actions, if repeated could fundamentally ruin the game forever. That's a huge advantage as well. Your (NFL) hall of fame took forever to put Charles Haley in who had 5 rings. It can't figure out if TO is a HOF. Oh and by the way it's diluted with steroid users. And to be honest CC is talking like he never took any kind of drugs. Like he's holier than thou are.

    I agree with some of the points they're both making, but with the logic CC is using about performance enhancers, then anyone known to have cheated should be removed from the Hall of Fame. If you feel that they don't deserve to be in based on the merits of their decisions then you should remove anyone whose been known to have utilized that advantage. CC will always be a great receiver but the point should be about professional debate and not always demeaning Nick Wright, even though sometimes he asks for it with his logic at points.

    A lot of people tend to forget, there was a time when steroids in professional baseball was not illegal. Barry Bonds, Mark Maguire, and Sammy Sosa looked up, and seen other guys taking it, and winning awards, World series, golden gloves, and ect, and said why not. You can only blame these guys so much, but Major league baseball should shoulder most of the blame. Only when it became mainstream knowledge that steroids was not illegal did they ban it. By then these guys had already hit 50, 60, and 70 homeruns. At one time to hit 40 plus homeruns guaranteed you an all-star spot. But when the average guys starting hitting 50 plus, ticket sales sky rocketed! There was a player that admitted steroid use in an interview with ESPN, and he won a golden glove, had the most homeruns in the NL, was the NL MVP! How could these players compete? Now we vilify these players, and that guy's in Canton now. With no asterisk, and was a 1st ballot Hall of Famer! You can't blame the players, MLB is the blame, and they took the money, and then pointed the fingers. Just my 2 cents...

  • @willgoddiess6560

    @willgoddiess6560

    To add to that the MLB was losing interest from fans. Then the players from the steroid era brought interest back to the game only for the league to turn their back on them after they made the money.
