Who in the hell would not step in for that young girl getting groped and kissed in public like that? Surely anyone would wonder what the hell a grown man was playing at doing that? I know I would have questioned him, especially if she was looking so scared like the reconstruction showed!

You could maybe blame it on the bystander effect/diffusion of responsibility but I think that's still a poor excuse. It's amazing on public transport how reluctant people are to say or do something. I've found its always worth making checking if something doesn't seem right. You don't need to be aggressive or confrontational just polite and concerned. Maybe it's easier being a young man because your own safety is less of a worry. I've found 4/5 times everything is fine actually no harm though in asking, 1/5 though someone really is in some kind of distress though and needs help.

​​​@@delduvall as far as I can tell it's unsolved. The victim would be about 30 now, suspect in his 50s I would guess. I could only find two articles, the police should do a new appeal if they are at a dead end. The description was quite detailed, the dribbling was weird, but no E-fit and the CCTV images are pretty grainy. The best hope now probably is he gets arrested for something stupid, drunk and disorderly which leads to his DNA being swabbed.
