I've seen many documentaries of the Andrew Gosden case. According to one of them, the police, instead of checking CCTV footage of the London vicinity for his whereabouts, they spent the beginning part of their investigation interrogating the parents in their home. That was pathetic because in any missing person case, the first couple of hours are the most crucial for the investigation, regarding police checking CCTV, asking neighbours, asking passersby, the family posting fliers, etc..

With the first crime, 'the black widow', they missed out part of the original crime report. Whilst tied up, something which they took part in often, the woman defecated on Richards's chest. I assume that they did not want to include that on a tv re-enactment however it was important because she tried to silence Richard by telling him she would tell his family about what he liked to do. After the first court case she rang his mother and told her as a punishment and his mother stopped talking to him and removed him from her will as she was disgusted .

In the first case there is just absolutely no way on this earth that you would ever leave your doors or windows front or back unlocked especially when they are not even in use as the whole point in keeping your doors and windows locked front or back is to stop intruders like the guy who attacked and shot the woman from walking into your house and potentially robbing the place especially if you live in a house
