Wow after watching it I remembered that I attended the trial of this guy for quite a few days. It was called the "Gardens by the Bay" murder by the media at that time. I remember the accused was evasive in court and even broke down crying while being cross-examined by the Deputy Attorney-General at times. He said he burnt the body to "give a proper send-off" to his girlfriend. Judge even had the accused demonstrate how he strangled the victim in the car.

Ooh must have been one kind of an experience, eh? Just wanna ask, how can I, an average member of the public, obtain a ticket to attend a particular criminal trial that I'm interested in as an audience in the public gallery?
Can we all appreciate the fact that the Crimewatch officers are doing their absolute best to teach other people lessons? We should never ever kill people despite the fact that we hate them or the fact that we can tend to get very very mad at them! The only way to solve issues relating to money is by seeking help from a professional therapist.

Those are his words. He might have lied to make it his actions seem more justifiable. For all we know, she’s kept in the dark about his marriage. Also, he’s a willing participant in the affair. It’s not like he was forced into it. It definitely felt to me like he’s a loser who wanna have best of both worlds. He’s shameless to the extent that he’d no qualms about borrowing $ from a lady under the guise of ‘investing’ on behalf of her. Before picking her up at Joon Koon mrt, he must have lied to her that he wanna settle the matter amicably with her. Actually he already planned to take her somewhere else to murder her.

I always thought that this guy had a mental breakdown or something after the strangulation as he probably was doing everything subconsciously where he is aware but maybe he couldn’t turn himself in because of fear or something. Still it’s a murder but personally it feels very accidental or unintentional as in a fight or flight response we might have limited awareness or control. (Personal opinion)
@nephel6158

It's not really murder, it's likely that it was ruled as manslaughter, assuming all of what Leslie confessed was true. In the laws of most countries, SG included, there is a distinction between premeditated and unpremeditated killing. He also most likely got charged with manipulation of crime scene (or sth similar, I forget the actual law's name).

@stephenraj4283

Because obviously he dun plan to get caught or be embarrassed. The reason he killed her was because she plan to exposed and make him look bad at his office in front of his colleagues.
