British accents were more common in 1860s St. Petersburg than I expected.

i can't believe he slipped that in there.

Anyone can provide a bit of insight for me on Marmeladov's character? He seems to love his family and squander their money at the same time...I'm confused. Is he really a good person? Why would he squander his family's money when his family desperately needed it? :P
