Thanks! I think a novel can be a hardboiled psychological thriller! The psych thriller term is probably more commercial and better understood by the general public, so if I were you I wouldn’t shy away from using it, particularly for marketing purposes.

And I think you’re right about happy endings. Noir and hardboiled both leave the reader with questions and no happy-ever-afters, even when the crime is solved. I’ll take a look at your channel!
