I already lost faith in the system by the time I was twenty. I was raised to respect the law, respect the Govt, and to Trust the Police , when my child was kidnapped by my ex and a woman who was supposed to be my best friend and I called Police for help, they couldn't help much they tried to find my child but months and months went by and then by time my child was found a Lawyer who had been paid lots and lots of money had already met with a family Judge who granted my ex and his new woman, my former best friend full custody of my daughter without so much as even hearing my side of the story and just took him at his word that I didn't have any interest in my child and that I had abandoned my child and that was why he was seeking custody. BS the story was fabricated , people were paid really well by his wealthy family and I found out years later straight from his mouth how he accomplished destroying any chance of a relationship I should have had with my child, with the help of the system in his corner. Every time I tried to get my child back my life was threatened by his friends in high places. To this day my daughter is so brain washed by him that she actually believes I never wanted her and that I never loved her. No matter how my side of the family has tried to reach out to her she doesn't want to have anything to do with any of us. The only thing Police said to me was that they had finally located them after months went by and that possession is nine tenths of the law and that he had presented with full legal custody papers and I was advised to get a lawyer and they turned and walked away. When I finally had my day in court it was told to my lawyer by the family judge that too much time had passed to return my child to me, that he had been the primary care giver for months and it was not in the best interest of the child to up root her now. I asked him in 2000 , how did he get custody of our daughter without my side of the story being heard at all and he said the system is rigged and if you got money like my family then you can make anything happen in your favor, makes me sick these Thug type people getting away with crimes the way they do with absolutely no remorse. Sickens me too how the system is nothing but a sham to collect tax dollars to ruin the lives of others. I lost all faith in the system but gained faith in Christ through it all.

I seriously hope I never lose a loved one to murder bc I’ll be victimized not only by the murder but also by our disgusting excuse for a justice system. This is so sad, the thing that gets me is that it happens all over the world. Hard working people (young or old) doing night shifts on their own all because the powers that be want to save “the mighty dollar”. Safety doesn’t come into the shift that hard worker is doing all by themselves because it’s nighttime. These so called bosses don’t care about the safety of these hard workers, as long it’s not them doing the shift. It doesn’t matter that the actual job is not hard labour, the person doing that night shift is putting themselves out there and also all the responsibility of looking after the shop facility, all my themselves (young or old hard workers). RIP Bridgette and all the other murdered victims 😞

I'm sorry but the parents of Bridget are also in the wrong! They keep repeating how unimaginably awful the 73 knife wounds are on their little tiny daugther's 17 yrs' young body... Than why, oh, why you let your 17 yrs young tiny daughter to work NIGHT SHIFT IN A GAS STATION???!!! How little attention you've paid to the kids of your blended family at that time? 😡

I had to watch this episode over a whole day because I couldn't stop crying, my anger and my disgust. I feel for her whole family and I'm just in shock of the justice system even allowing him to request anything to have rights and to be able to get married. However yes our Canadian government/justice system is failing Canadians every single day. I live in Hamilton Ontario a boy was stabbed at school in front of his mother and passed. The offender got 3 years house arrest and 12 months no booze or drugs. They returned the offender to the same family he was with when he commited this cold blooded murder. Where is the justice?

What an unfair burden for victims. I understand that ppl who commit crimes are also human beings and have their own trauma stories, however our system is not rehabilitation based and until it is, you should really get life. If you don’t serve life, at least serve the full sentence so victims can move on with their lives and start healing .. at least for a period of time.

Its likely that he will be released when he's old or very old , the case seems got media coverage and a lot of people know about it , so if they release him early, people will react , also he is desperate to get out , desperate but smart which is a tell tale that he is faking and I can assume Canada isnt stupid enough to release him early then he will commit a crime again it will be a clusterfuck. this is why I assumed he will be released when he is old.
