Cricut Tip: Two Must Have Free Apps - InkScape and FontLab Pad
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It's definitely a pain that Cricut's Design Space does not connect cursive/script writing. While it's ok when you're doing one name, if you have orders or doing multiple names on a fairly regular basis, you NEED FontLab Pad. And to easily elevate a project, an offset is key. Learn how to do it quickly using InkScape.

Thanks so much for sharing. I already have Inkscape and needed to know what FontLab was all about.

Well I only use Inkscape for the offset and now it's available in Cricut's Design Space! But I still love FontLab until Cricut gets it together and offers that!!! =)

@@TheUselessCrafter I'm not sure, but I think some make their own svg's in Inkscape. I'm hoping to do that some day.
I tried to follow your steps but when I enlarged the text in Inkscape, it went blurry and the paint can didn’t work properly. After watching your video again very closely, I noticed that on my computer, FontLab Pad was saving the text as a png file but yours was saved as an svg file. I tried it again but this time I saved it as an svg file and it worked perfectly. Thank you for the tutorial. 👍🏻👍🏻 I will be using offset a lot from now on! 😁

I'm not really sure where you are having the problem.
How do you turn all that into a stencil please? Thank you.

If you want to turn anything into a stencil, you create the design first ... like in this case the name. Then you insert a square (or any shape), make sure the shape covers the entire design. And then you grab both the image and the shape, and slice. Your slice results will be a stencil. You can see my tattoo tutorials since it uses a stencil: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gKaDwbCLps2efc4.html
can we do all of that in one app? Like ink scape, illustrator or affinity designer

I'm so glad you reached out!!!! This was done before Cricut did their update where they now offer kerning and offsets. So I no longer use Inkscape nor Fontlab and do both in Cricut's design space. Also, I use MainType to attach all the swirls and swooshes. I hope that helps!! =)
