Last time I was on a motorcycle...1986 Last time on an Enduro....1979 Yesterday I picked up my own 2021 CRF300L! The wife even lets me keep it at the foot of the bed!...NOT! I am almost 64 and live on Vancouver Island and want to get back to the back roads I used to ride on. Back then I would fall and get hurt. Now I will fall and break! Needless to say I will be riding easy this time around...until the adrenaline kicks in! Looking fwd to more vids☺️
Nice vid! I'm considering getting a CRF myself and come across your vid as I'm a moto camper too. Inspiring!
I am not sure I've ever seen that much dust kicked up by either a pick-up truck or logging truck--made my contacts hurt just sitting on the couch watching your video! All part of the adventure and you handled it well--well done! We've had lots of wildfires here in AZ this summer, also, so here's hoping you get some rain soon. Ride safe!

It was a shocking amount of dust for sure! I hope we get rain soon!
By the end of the month, I hope to be taking the same tentative steps on a similar bike. It's been an interminable wait; only made manageable by you tube posts. Thanks for keeping it real. Greetings from The Netherlands.
It’s also possible to learn heaps from watching the cycle camping videos! Those guys really know how to pack !!
Thanks for sharing your know-how. I am in a similar situation in terms of gear carriage, with a Yamaha SR400. Ready-made pannier racks and bags cost over 10% of the cost of the bike! Like how fastened your gear to the bike safely and sensibly. Happy Trails!
I have that same model Hennessy hammock with the LARGE rain fly. I LOVE THAT THING!
Great video, keep on going! If you want to keep your simple, light and inexpensive luggage style, consider getting one (or even two) of these simple and cheap drybags (e.g. Ortlieb) to stuff your gear into. Gives plenty of additional room and straps the same way you did this time. I used to travel with one or two Ortliebs strapped to the back of the bike about 25 years ago (I know, I'm old...) The Mosko Reckless system does essentially the same, it's just way more engineered and shiny ;)
Loved the "too sexy" wash at the end, nice save! You're in my neck of BC, on the bike I'm saving up for. It's the perfect video for me - Subscribed!

Great test trip! I would’ve needed an oxygen mask for those trucks! Lol
Moto camping is awesome fun 👍
Hi ! How are you doing, can’t wait for more videos:)
Been in the same dusty situation in northern Ontario on my klr,, those logging truck can really fly on rough roads have to give them a lot of room
I can't decide if I'm going to grab the regular setup or the Rally version, fortunately I won't be able to get my hands on one until the '22 riding season, and that'll give me time to go back and forth. In the meantime I'm enjoying my NC750X with the DCT that I picked up last summer, but I'm definitely missing my CRF250L. Thanks for sharing your outing.

awesome! can't wait to get this bike. I have a feeling that right when i buy one, Yamaha will release their Tenere 300 or WR450R. but seems like the closest bike on the market to that unicorn we all long for.

If yamaha drops a wr400 the market would go nuts. Suzuki might go bankrupt after sales for the dr and drz drop to 0
I cannot wait till I get my 300 rally
Man, well done !

Looked like a section of the Dalton hwy!
Ahhh I'd lovr to increase the length of my legs to ride this lovely rally bike haha
Another good video. Keep them coming. I'm considering this bike. Would you recommend this bike to a tall seasoned rider? I'm a bit older now getting back into motorcycles. Not into the weight and complexity of the bigger ADV bikes. Would you recommend the ABS system?
Yeah nice job mate

Lighter is better! I would like to see more details about the contents of your luggage next time , cheers!
Mate how’s it going? , Paul from Australia 🇦🇺, I use the Eurostan Blizzard soft Medium 100% waterproof panniers ; I got the mediums - they are all the same size except for how wide they are . Also shaped like a sock 🧦 so fit a small enduro to a medium size ADV bike VERY well. Not cheap but quality gear .
Excellent quality video. Picked up my Rally a few weeks ago. Added some handguards. That took a bit of work but got it done. If you are interested in installing a set let me know and I'll send you the best link for the process.

hi great video my frend. got a question for you. so I vlog on my r6 with the gopro on the helmet. now I pick up my rally next week and was wondering where you place your gopro as it looks like a realy good angle.
@dawnpatrol4256

I’ve been using the GoPro chest mount a knock off extension to get the GoPro a little higher. It takes some fiddling with the angle but I like how it lets you see all the controls
What if it rains, won't your stuff get wet?
Hi there, I just picked up my 300 rally a week ago. I live in BC as well and am wondering if you have sourced any skid plates or rad guards shipped within Canada? I have an email into a company in the lower mainland who carries Flatland products. Waiting to hear back. Wondering if you have any other suggestions. Thanks.

what is the insurance cost of this bike bro thanks in advance, and plus u jst got one more subscriber :-D
@dawnpatrol4256

It’s really going to depend on your location, age, experience, or if you’ve done rider training. In Canada I think it’s in the cheapest insurance category for motorcycles. 200-400cc’s
Gets back from dusty trip, lubes chain (good) washes bike (meh), doesn't even mention air filter (bad).
Why am I watching this I’ve owned a 450l for a year now lol

Somewhat comfortably 120-130 kph maxed out 145 kph I think it could hit 150 if you held it wide open long enough depending on weight wind etc.
