When you're an American History major and learn more about Homer Plessy in a 2-minute talk by Andrew than you learned in college
Recently bought a house in Bywater. Crescent Park is an amazing space. So well thought out and a much needed public space with access to the Mississippi River. Views to die for.
I cannot get enough of this content y’all. Please dont stop! Plz plz plz… I was thinking a good idea for a vid would be revisiting the neighborhoods (especially) and places you already have covered but go deeper and tell the stories you weren’t able to or didn’t in the previous videos. As we know the city has basically endless stories and history to be told while being seen. Im sure any of y’all could go back through any already toured neighborhood and make a fresh, informative and fun new piece. Andrew often says he can go in to this or that but we never get the tale 😊. Please y’all! We want another walkabout & talkabout!
I love the sounds of nature...When you passed by One Piety and Dr. Bob's.
Really enjoyed this walk, thank you. Bringing my granddaughter to New Orleans for the first time soon and will show her the murals you highlight in this. I appreciate the history of this area.

I would love to see Burgundy Street in the Bywater neighborhood. My great grandparents lived at 3146 Burgundy in the late 1800's and early 1900's. They had 11 children.
French quarter tour #2! All new stories! All new histories!
Fascinating tour Andrew.

I went to New Orleans 2 weeks ago today for about a week. I'm back home and I miss it terribly!
Thank y’all ‼️
I’m in zone 6 but I need some Lilies of the Nile! Thanks for showing them! I now realize what an incredible disservice I’ve done to myself, when I visit New Orleans I never leave the French Quarter! These foot tour videos have shown me how shockingly ignorant I’ve been concerning New Orleans! I can’t thank you guy’s enough for educating a fool! Lol!
This is yet another fine Appreciation Art [sic] tutorial. Andrew is teaching me new observation skills, and better ways to understand and value my surroundings. It’s a far more satisfying gumbo when one has a deeper understanding of its ingredients. Merci beaucoup, Andrew.

Oh I missed your video, but watching it now. Stay safe. Stay blessed.
Andrew I have learned so much about New Orleans from watching your videos. I used to live in NO years ago when I was a young man but the Quarters was my fixation then. I would love to back again some day and visit parts of the city you coved in your videos as a tourist! Keep up the good work!

This is the first video I watch of yours, am I’m absolutely blown away by it. It feels like I’m really there with you taking in the sights, learning about the history of everything you’re going by. I love New Orleans. I’m from south texas, but I’ve been going once a year for the last 5 or so years. This next trip, I wanna drive to San Antonio with my daughter, take our bikes on the Amtrak, and get around the city by bike so we can explore more than just the downtown/quarter area. That’s the best part of New Orleans, you don’t really need a car there. The city is so compact, that’s the reason I dream of moving there.

Thank you Andrew, My heart fluttered upon seeing the Country Club. OH yes, I remember those clothing optional days, many a afternoon was squandered poolside as a "guest" of the owners, Bob Hudson and that Gay Cabal of Farburg and Bywater. "Si bons souvenirs"

Press Street was named for the cotton presses that used to be prevalent in the area in the early 1800s when cotton helped to make our wealth. They were also in the Lower Garden District waterfront area.
This was such a helpful video! I think we'll do this walk when we arrive in New Orleans, I've got several Bywater stops I'd like to see.

Excellent tour! I share your videos to many FB pages! I wish you could have swung down to the "Steamship Houses" from the turn of the century in Holy Cross, but maybe someday.
The last time I payed a visit to Nola I stay in the bywater. I loved it. I hung out at a bar that seemed to be mostly locals. I understand the bywater is going / gone through gentrification. ( I am no stranger to gentrification in my hometown of Portland Oregon) If it's true that transplants move to the bywater where is it that most of the locals might commonly live?
I haven’t been to New Orleans for over 10 years but lately have been watching your videos and find them informative and entertaining. So much so that I booked a few days in the French Quarter October 5th and 6th. I was planning on taking a couple tours with your company but then Ida happened. I was wondering what your opinion would be about canceling now or waiting a couple of weeks more to see how things come together. Thanks for your help!

Graffiti seems inevitable in some places. Maybe in the high school, they should paint around the artsy graffiti and remove the trashy, and clean it up... I think it would look very cool.

Thank you for suggesting the group. I’ll certainly be joining. I’m in NOLA now and I’m so happy, however witnessing the moderate destruction saddens me. I’ll ask around to find out how I can help. Thanks for your response 😀
Nice tour, very well done and enjoyable. As to the question of whether "street art" is trash or treasure, I consider graffiti to be criminal conduct and a blight on our cities. I do not consider commissioned wall murals to be a form of street art but rather public art.
I'm really thinking about moving to New Orleans next year, and was considering Bywater because I've heard it affordable/artsy? But from what you're saying maybe it's getting too gentrified. I'm a 25 yr old artist living in Bedstuy in Brooklyn and hoping to find an affordable but artsy area, I guess something similar to Bedstuy but in New Orleans. How you're talking about Bywater reminds me of what happened to Williamsburg and lately Bushwick which makes me nervous. I'd love to hear alternative recommendations/other neighborhoods!
I have a vacation planned soon. Is the power coming back on in the by water area soon? My vacation is planned to start September24th
I looked up the park on google maps, are there any significance to the black lines through the park? They look like they represent something that used to be there.
Do you have any uptown blogs of NOLA. Headed there next month...

Somebody just died underneath their bike.
I'm skeered of the bywater.
I wish the city would preserve native New Orleanians by not running them away with rising housing costs. What is New Orleans without natives
I don't know why gentrification is such a controversy for some. The neighborhood's always look much better. It's true in Quebec City and it's true in New Orleans. The "poor native-born people" who "got pushed out" weren't taking care of anything and it just gets run down, ugly and dangerous. Seriously, are there any nice neighborhoods in New Orleans that are not rather wealthy and/or white? Just look at a map of racial demographics of New Orleans and which neighborhoods are the nice ones. The Faubourg Marigny and Bywater are nice, south of Saint Claude Ave. I wish something good would happen in the Irish Channel or around Lafayette no. 2.
Technically there is no upper ninth ward. It’s the Ninth Ward and the Lower Ninth Ward. Just saying.
It looks like a great place to get mugged.
Thanks!
