We recently revamed our basement office and I have been wanting a new desk for some time. So, when Autonomous reached out to me to see if I would be interested in trying out one of their SMD Core standing desks, I was excited to say yes! They also challenged me to build my own DIY top for it. I chose to use maple plywood and solid walnut to accent it.
The top is 30" deep x 72" wide and 1-1/4" thick. I also decided to make matching cabinets for storage underneath the desk. The cabinets each have a file drawer on the bottom and then the taller cabinet has two upper storage drawers.
For finish I chose to use Rubio Pure Oil 2C in two coats.
