Yup. Manson was crazy, but also not. He was crazy enough to be deranged and incite violence, but he was still sane enough to function and to manipulate people. Just because he had unnaturally wide eyes that made him look nuts didn't mean he was incapable of thinking straight enough to plan and manipulate.

Nothing demonic about Manson's response. He is making fun of what he sees as the "stupidity" of the questioner asking him who he is. This grandiosity about ones self is quite common in sociopaths. Everyone else is inferior (and thusly stupid, etc) and the sociopath is superior.

Source? His behaviour doesn't ring true of schizophrenics. Also, catatonia renders a person unable to respond to inquiry. Additionally, catatonia is very rare in schizophrenia and is more frequent in mood disorders, such as bipolar, uni- or monopolar, major depressive disorder and schizoeffective disorder. If you have a source for that claim, I'd love to watch the video of it. Edit: I watched the interview with him and yes, he was diagnosed with catatonic schizophrenia however, in that interview, it's very clear he was heavily medicated and a comment made by his niece confirmed that for me. Catatonia, as I mentioned before, is not terribly common in schizophrenics but it does happen. Once in a catatonic state, the person suffering from it is unable to respond to anyone. They generally don't do anything at all or make purposeless motions. It's terribly sad how things went for that man. I didn't find him creepy, I simply felt sad inside that he suffered from something and was that heavily medicated for it.

I had seen this interview when it was originally aired. I knew then he was responsible. I believe the police did as well. They began building evidence to prove his guilt. He was arrested & claimed his innocence until his trial was to begin. There was a mountain of proof by that time. He finally admitted his guilt & in court described everything he had done to her. It was absolutely horrifying. Her parents requested that the death penalty would not be seeked. It's not what Lauren would of wanted. He will be in prison for the rest of his life. He took an angel from this world. She was the epitome of goodness. 😭💔😭💔😭💔😭

A number of them replied they didn't care about him, they were concerned about his followers staying in jail. It was very interesting to hear people's reactions and commentary after his passing. One woman said she grew up close to where one of the murders happened, so Charles Manson was like the Bogeyman to her.

Now, they are different, but not in a way that could result in kinds such as Dennis Rader, or John Wayne Gacy. It is disgusting the way everyone who was deemed different was treated, but we now know that autism and such don't equal schizophrenia, pedophiles, etc. I'm so sorry that those friends/family are that way, but they're better off today then they would've been a few decades ago, may thoughts go out to you and your family.

I could be wrong, but maybe he’s trying to put that all behind him. Didn’t all of that happen like 4 years ago and got proved that she lied then too? (I don’t really keep up with KZread drama, so I may not be remembering all of this correctly). She kinda damaged her reputation a while back with some videos, so who knows what’s true and what isn’t anymore. It’s hard for me to take a side because I’ve been there as a victim and I’ve also seen people nearly destroyed by false accusations.

not sure if it's worth mentioning here, but there was a reporter who asked Brenda Spencer why she was shooting at a schoolyard full of kids, her answer was "i hate Mondays". she was very flippant and sarcastic about how she said it.
