Steven Stayner deserves all the praise. Managing to survive such an ordeal and then finding the courage to fight in order to save another boy. A lesser person could have thought "oh finally he's going to be off my back" especially after getting abused for years and not knowing much kindness growing up, but not him, on the contrary it gave him the motivation to escape to save the boy. Kudos to him.

I agree. If the guy had not abducted another child, Stayner would probably just have resigned himself to his fate. He only escaped to save the young boy that he didn't even know. That is a true hero. Thank God that for every person like these abductors, there are people like him.

unlikely. hate to burst the positivity bubble there, but when people do rotten things, they don't apologise for being that way. they just blame the victim for getting into More trouble. the only reason the woman would have even pretended to care was because she saw the opportunity to make a buck by playing the poor worried mom scene.

That Parnell creep molested & tortured him for years. So sad. People are sick. It's so disturbing to think that your quiet neighbors that you've never met could be holding children/adults hostage & torturing them. I now live in a woodsy, mountainous area & there definitely are some "Silence of the Lambs" looking houses in my neighborhood. I feel these sickos that are caught should be tortured in the same way they did to others for the rest of their lives.

That sounded really sketchy to me too!! She also believed that her daughter (who she hadn't heard from in years) kept abandoning kids for them to raise which ought to have raised some questions. I suppose denial can really cloud your mind but I honestly think she was complicit.

Didn't make sense to me either... you have an area in your house that you don't go into? Perhaps, but around the time your daughter disappears a door goes up there. Coincidence much? Then Dad is the only one who knows where she is and is contact with your child, but your maternal instinct isn't tingling? She sounds more battered than an accomplice...
