Haley got her rock and roll chops from her parents, she was the first jazz singer for her high school jazz band, they won a competition to perform in Umbria, Italy w/ Haley as their vocalist. Haley's Dad, Harry, would scat to her when she was a baby and she would scat back to him before she could talk. Haley has a natural rasp to her speaking voice, so her growls don't take as much effort as other vocalists might need. Haley learned how to yodel by listening to the Irish band "The Cranberries" and sang Leann Rimes "Blue" to prove to her parents she could yodel, afterwhich her parents often would have her sing at their gig. They've been performing in their own band for over 40 years

I had the honor of seeing Haley during her LoFi Soul Tour. And she was absolutely amazing! No vocal effects, just pure talent.

Honestly, doesn't her voice just make all the bad things go away, and you find yourself at peace with most everything. I love you for that Haley.

Great video. I played this for my family to watch their reaction. We ended up watching this artist for an hour afterwards.

One on my favorite pass-times is watching first time reactions to Haley, (this rendition)...and some of the music I grew up with in the 70's and 80's.

You should hear her version of Black Hole Sun with PMJ. Amazing.

PMJ kills it everytime. It's the pianist's project, he does all the arrangements, rotating cast of vocalists, musicians and sometimes even tap dancers. pop songs reimagined in older genres.

Actually, this video isn't great because of the PMJ music arrangement. It's great because Haley Reinhart, the best there ever was who performed with PMJ, made it great. In fact, Karen Marie recorded "Creep" employing this same exact PMJ musical arrangement months before Haley Reinhart first recorded it while on tour in Europe. Today that Karen Marie version of "Creep" has a whopping 2.5 million views and in which is about average for most vocalists that have performed with PMJ. While the Haley Reinhart version of "Creep", on the other hand, not only stayed on the Billboard Digital Jazz Chart for 58 straight weeks, but also has over 106 million views on KZread today. Indeed, this music video isn't great because PMJ arranged it but instead because Ms Haley Reinhart sung it.

@@franwiththeredhair I believe it helps to appreciate this version more if you hear the original first. I've been a Radio Head fan for a long time, heard this version a few years ago and loved it.

I recommend other postmodern jukeboxes with Haley Reinhart,, "seven Nation army", all about the bass, and don't speak.

She straight gives me chills and a lump in my throat it's a beautiful thing to see another person enjoy that thank you 💜💙✌️

Creep by Radiohead was on constant replay for me and it’s a song that instantly takes me back to the very moment I heard it and who I was with. I felt a trip down memory lane. Thank you lol

I saw these guys a couple of weeks ago. Blew me away. I dunno if it means anything that I was a drummer for one of the pioneers of thrash punk, but I know talent when I see it.

w00!! Glad you got to her! She's one of my favorite vocalists on earth.

She was great on American Idol. I used to always hate on that show and I finally watched a season and it was with her (and a bunch of other good artists), and made me realize I was just missing out on some talented artists. She's great. Also, the original is an all time great song by Radiohead. Definitely worth checking out.

One of my favorites ever. She has a gorgeous.... everything... voice, control, range, vibrato... the works. PMJ are awesome live if you ever get the chance to go see them. Some others to check out... The original is by Radio Head. It's very different. Another great Creep cover is from Brian Justin Crum on America's Got Talent. More PMJ: Black Hole Sun and Seven Nation Army both featuring Haley. And Dream on featuring Morgan James. And PLEASE check out Thriller featuring Wayne Brady. It's one of my favorite PMJ covers and it rarely gets any attention.

agree and i would recommend that polo listen to the original to appreciate just how creatively pmj and the wonderful haley reinhart re-image it. as i mentioned in a prior reaction, the original gets you to connect to your emotions but this version with haley pulls all the emotions out of you... she touches the soul like no other and easily the most underrated singer today.

A very under the radar cover, which is truer to the original (including lyrics) is by Alexa Melo - kzread.info/dash/bejne/eI1srLt9ltKspag.html. I prefer Haley's cover to Alexa, but will take Alexa over BJC. Just my personal preference.

She's my favorite female singer for sure. Possibly favorite overall. I think the most talented singer there is.

Haley is the best all around female vocalist today (not singer, anyone can sing) but no one can do what Haley does with her vocals. switching vocal effects on and off with such control and ease

I’m just watching this now, and hearing that you didn’t know about Radiohead yet when you recorded this made me smile. I’ve watched your Radiohead reaction videos, and felt so happy that you dove in and appreciate them so much.

I first saw her on season 10 of American Idol. I think that was the year Scotty McCreary won.Two stand out songs Hailey did were Benny and the Jets and House of the Rising Sun. She sung the heck out of them. I think Casey Abrams was on that season too. Probably where they met. He's an underrated artist. Dude can play any instrument he gets his hands on.

Rumor has it she had a cold when they recorded this and they only did this one take. Haley is incredible and Scott Bradlee (the pianist) is a freaking genius. He started from his own apartment - and got evicted due to noise complaints and a fire hazard - check their 'Burn' video 😂. Their first tour ever was named 'The eviction tour' . They are an incredible group of musicians and artists. Some have been there from the start, obviously Scott and also the bass player Adam Kabuto. Incredible fun and all very talented. Liked and subscribed ✌️

Well, let's be honest shall we. The best thing that ever happened to Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox was the arrival of Haley Reinhart. As before Haley Reinhart arrived, all Scott Bradlee and PMJ ever played were tiny venues and cheap dives. Then after Haley arrived and quickly recorded several music videos that all went viral, suddenly Scott Bradlee and PMJ found themselves filling arenas and coliseums. They owe a lot of their success to Ms Haley Reinhart.

Just discovered PMJ and this cover by Haley. It’s played constantly since. Such a deep well of talent!

Polo It's a pity you hadn't heard the original Radiohead track before this version. It has been completely recreated by Scott Bradlee, the pianist, arranger and founder of Postmodern Jukebox. Haley slots into this effortlessly and brilliantly. You'll still find it interesting comparing the original with this version. You would almost feel that this is the original because of the throwback feel to a long gone era.

If you notice there are drums but you can’t see them PMJ kicks ass there is so much more to review if you want more like ! It’s all about the bass ! O my

When I heard the original version, I was highly disappointed, but I figure that’s due to my age. Damn, I’m old. Regardless, Haley Reinhart is one of my favorites. Absolutely everything she sings is a tremendous performance. Post Modern Jukebox struck gold when she appeared.

nice reaction polo. haley is one the greatest, most unique vocalist of our time. postmodern jukebox (or pmj) takes current popular songs and completely re-imagines them vintage (1920s to 1960s) in the music itself and style of the performances that actually take you back in time. they have a variety of good vocals but haley reinhart especially with postmodern jukebox is incredible. all the other haley/pmj ones are great also: "all about the bass", "habits", "black hole sun", "mad world", "seven nations army", "oops i did it again", "lovefool" and the very recent "don't speak". i think what is so phenomenal about haley is not just her amazing silk to sandpaper voice but also her character and soul that she puts into the performances. even when she uses very little of her unique vocal acrobatics, her pure raw soft voice is amazing like in the intro of "creep". you see this even more in her solo platinum cover of "can't help falling in love" for the extra gum commercial which is truly stunning and frequently described as what love sounds like here: (kzread.info/dash/bejne/kamC0qebpJrdj9I.html )

Hayley was one of the best performers to come out of early American Idol. She has a fantastic sensibility for jazz and blues. Vintage Jukebox is performed her!

Creep is not ONE of 'Those type of songs', this is Haley's cover of the song, as arranged by the man playing the piano, who is the founder of Post Modern Jukebox. Creep is from the movie The Social Network, Radiohead is not a jazz band.

Great, amazing, fantastic version of this song! I love Radiohead but this is far superior to the original. If you want to branch out more, I recommend trying "Blues Traveler", their song "Hook", or "The Mountains Win Again" are a couple standouts from off the top of my head.

The original artist is Radiohead. Do yourself a favor and definitely check them out. You can throw a dart at their discography and land on a hit every time. Fantastic band. Also, would you believe Haley Reinhart was voted off the tenth season of American Idol in third place?

Ah yeah, good old PMJ! I love their unique covers. I think you have to hear the original versions of the songs for the full effect. But you can tell the band and the guest singers they bring in are all fantastic!
