    Agreed! Some good value I think. I get the 5% on everything at times and choose what you want at 5% but most people wouldn't really be using it.

    If 5% unlimited on everything on your top category is NOT god tier then i don't know what is. Everyone has a top category that changes month to month. This card is a no brainer because its unlimited. Jealously Sucks that its impossible for normal people and only for special people/influencers who make shitload of money but doesn't mean its not god tier IMO.

    Amex points are trash unless you use for traveling. No flexibility unless you work around it with the Schwab Platinum version to set a floor of 1.1. Chase earns points at a worse rate but much more flexibility at use and value on the points.

Before watching this video I didn’t know about the ways you can use them to match with MGM or other hotel/casinos member loyalty cards so that could’ve been useful. Is there any loyalty program matching available for amex gold holders?

    11:22 the PayPal card is decent. It’s a keeper to me. It’s just that it’s recently kind of overshadowed by the AmEx BCE refresh due to the overlap, although there are loads of services payable via PayPal that the BCE won’t cover. Universal 2% is pure cashback, so somewhat inferior to the Double Cash there, but that’s pretty fine for team cashback.

    Solid tier listing Ben! I agree that for a frequent traveler AMEX beats out Chase, but Chase has more versatility with their points for someone that might want to skirt the travel/cashback line. It was tough to see American Express over Chase. I see them as pretty equal, but my mind might change as I get more AMEX cards

    The Wells Fargo hate is outdated in my opinion. No bank is your friend and they all do shady things that we don't see. As you said though, even if you won't bank with them, you might as well take value from them with their credit cards since you don't have to have any assets under management with them to use their cards or anything. Fun video Ben!!

    I would rate them as follows: 1. Chase 2. Citi 3. Amex 4. Cap1 5. US Bank The rest is junk.

    There is a guy who had Amex Platinum card ,and took a vacation in Mexico stopped by a gas station got some gas. The clerk told him the card was no good so he paid cash. Then when he came back to the states. He realized that was a charge for around $900 something at that gas station he stopped by in Mexico. Then he disputed the charge with Amex first time, the Amex didn’t do anything. Finally he had to disputed it three times and got it resolved. He said the Amex customer’s service sucks and wouldn’t stick up with customers.

    It’s funny to me that the US TD cards are not great in Canada they are fantastic and provide value parallel to American Express!!!

    My US TD Visa card keeps changing their rewards program every few years or so and I don't like it. But it's a very high limit no-annual fee card that is 8-years old so I keep it active enough to not self-cancel.

    Interesting, I hear you on that, however, I have been in this game for almost a decade and the lifetime language still hasn’t caused me a problem, ive had the schwab platinum bonus, i can still get the vanilla, i have been working through business cards, can still get the personal and business green, maybe in 5 years it will start causing an issue

    @TheCreditShifu I'm also probably biased towards chase since my place of grocery shopping isn't coded as grocery and the credits on the platinum don't match up with my typical spending

    Overall I agree with your ratings. But... I think it's unfair to give Wells Fargo an asterisk. You are rating cards not on how much people hate/hated them for things that don't affect most people. AMEX, I have several and I do like them but they also have the highest fees! I agree with the other people that said the Karat card is only good for influencers. And, in general, I get irked when you make comments like a card is great because of refrerral bonuses. That really only works for people like you! It's not a plus.

    This video is titled incorrectly since Shifu ignores cash back. No way Amex is god tier as a credit card company. They are god tier as a points and miles company. But lately the customer service has taken a nose dive, and even high earners and spenders like Simon Katz have had big issues with their algorithms halting his spending despite making weekly payments. He says he has no issues like that with Chase. That’s simply not god-tier no matter how you slice it. But this shouldn’t come as a surprise, Amex spends more on influencers and marketing than any other bank.

  • @TheCreditShifu

    @TheCreditShifu

    Actually Amex pulled out of video influencer advertising a couple of years ago, so it is is hard for us to make money off referrals to them, we can only do referrals from our website not KZread. We make a lot more from Chase. But yeah, this is my own opinion based tier list, feel free to share yours in the comments. ;-)

    @@TheCreditShifu Fair enough. Thanks for the response. I do think the once in a lifetime policy should be another ding on Amex though, if we are valuing points. You can churn Chase credit cards for their massive bonuses.
