I just used the destruction devastation death thing in my creative writing today 😭

Bleak clouds shrouded the city in a blanket of despair, a cacophony of hissing sounds struck the nearby land as though it had been engulfed by a sallow moon hunting its prey, turning the sky from an azure setting, into a sight of charcoal which had carefully lit the obsidian night sky. Forgotten, forsaken, forlorn. A morose package lay into the depths of a delivery van, squashed right at the back, lying in agony. The pristine exterior began to fade away as the years passed: it became abandoned every miniscule second of waiting. "Why hasn't anyone chosen me? I've been waiting for five long years," the melancholic parcel wonders aloud.
