Creative director Jenna Lyons on creating J.Crew's unique look
Jenna Lyons is one of the most influential women in fashion. As creative director at J.Crew, she is credited with giving the brand her unique style, catering to everyone from celebrities to students. But as the company struggles with falling profits and tries to expand abroad, Lyons has her work cut out for her. Norah O'Donnell reports.

Jenna Lyons is an icon. So interesting seeing this time capsule of her life before RHONY. So much respect for her. A real working influential woman. Wow.
She is so talented! Her time at J Crew was special and profitable. Knowing her story makes you respect her accomplishments even more.

@@marciamakoviecki3295 Because they let her take on too many roles for one person with little support, not because she's not capable. She was never replaced -- they had a new CEO but also never had someone so invested in the creative process top down - it's a regular fashion brand now.

I love Jenna. I think she's worked really hard. The tv journalist needs some work tho. To me she came across as condescending. Jenna was very cordial & articulate.

That's what happens when these journalists interview someone more intelligent and articulate than them. And mostly if that person is a woman. Both male and female journalists do this to intelligent women. It's pathetic.

I'm addicted to j crew blogs and actually bought several "style hacks" pieces that I never thought would look good on me. My only gripe is that they run out of pieces and don't seem to bring them back??

J Crew is gone and I don’t miss it. All over the place in terms of branding. Chico’s is known for their florals and free shipping. 😆 JJILL for their high natural fiber content that is still affordable. Soft Surroundings for a balance of feminine, resort, casual wear. Nordstrom for hand bags and shoe 👠 departments. Mephisto for $$$$ footwear, but always high quality.

You either get a degree and intern into a specific fashion company or the people you know will get you there. Nowadays it more of "Who you know instead of what you know" that gets you a job.

You realize that Trumps behavior is due to his father bullying him right? And lack of affection right? People are built based on their traumas. Some cope, some became narcissists, some become bullies themselves.
