    Thank you Jackie! I've watched each of the videos in this color study (actually - went back and watched every video you've posted) and I learned a lot. I really appreciate your teaching style and generosity. I feel more organized in my own approach after watching these. Bonus - your work is beautiful!

    This has been an incredible series to watch. Thank you so much for all the work that has gone into creating this amazing colour chart. Fascinating to see the variation in colours that you can achieve just mixing the colours you chose. Loved the grid you created using prints and the blind rocks sheet. I will choose 4 colours and then teach myself how to make a colour chart . From there create, create, create. Love it! Thank you, Jackie 🌹❤️👍🙃

    @@PaintedPaperStudio my dad died on Christmas Eve. He was the biggest champion of my art. I have found it very hard to create anything since I lost him. I lack motivation & energy. I'm doing ICAD just to get myself into daily creating on a small scale. There's just no desire to go back to the art journal. I'm taking this time to learn from others & hopefully ignite my passion.

    Thank you so much Jackie for these valuable, creative and fun videos. I have watched them all, maybe except the first through to the end which I intend to rewatch. Really enjoy your teaching style throughout and have a newfound appreciation to collage as a key ingredient to mixed media. When you said there is skill in cutting and tearing paper, it made me think how each process is as important as the application of the paint and brings such a sense of presence to all the creative steps. Cutting, tearing, placing and glueing with intuitive intention and presence feels quite meditative. Look forward to your next instalment. Much gratitude for your generosity of time and creativity. Beautiful 🙏🏻💗🙏🏻

    Hi Jackie, here´s a big THANK YOU for showing how you use and store the geliprints. While watching (the whole series) I got a feeling, as if my soul was bathing in colours 🏵. Reducing the huge amount of colours to only a few, gave me such a big wave of joy when I watched you gaining more and more variations out of them. I learned such a lot! For example: Go with the process. Don´t overthink. Take time to feel the joy, when a surprising tone shows up. Only to mention a few aspects. And I loved the grid study you made. Each of those miniatures seems to tell a story of how the colours enjoy to have met each other, to give contrast, to make each other shine. And on top I got a very practical advice of how to store and remember the results. I think, you did a really good job! 🥰 Britta

    I watched the whole color study process today, amazing. I definitely want to give it a try, this process has really caught my eye. I’ve been looking for a way to build my collage papers and to use certain colors palettes. To use in junk journals and cards. I was thinking 4 to 6 sunset colors, is it best to limit the colors to 4? Is there a reason why you didn’t include your 3x3 collages in your art journal? One last question, are you going to create another in-depth color study in the future? 🤗🤗

  • @PaintedPaperStudio

    @PaintedPaperStudio

    6 ай бұрын

    Hi Tracy - great questions! The number of colors you use is completely up to you - just remember to give each color it's full opportunity. If you are doing an in depth study (which would be awesome) it will take quite a bit of time for each color. Side tip: keep your studio journal next to you the whole time. If you're anything like me, a million ideas will come up for you while you lose yourself in the colors 🤗. As for not including the 3x3's in my art journal - it was just a choice. I have a large stack of grid painting/collages on card stock that I keep in a box nearby for instant inspiration. I could have just as easily put them in the art journal with the color study. And yes, I will absolutely be creating another in depth color study in the future. They are just too much fun. 🥰

    This is probably my favorite series I've ever watched. I'm very new to art and color theory of any type. I'm in the process of moving art rooms and can't wait to try this out. Thank you valuable lessons learned. Please can you yell me how the yes paste is different from the matte medium? Is it just a difference in water amounts?

  • @PaintedPaperStudio

    @PaintedPaperStudio

    9 ай бұрын

    Thank you, Kricket - that is so nice to hear! There is a difference in the water levels for sure, but the paste is heavier, and you have less working with it. I usually use it with heavier and highly textured papers. The matte medium is much more fluid, stays wet longer, and creates great adhesion. However, you need to be careful with matte medium because the paper can buckle. I usually use paste for quick projects in my art journal and matte medium for larger projects or pieces I plan on displaying or selling. 😀

    Jackie, so many thanks for creating this space to create freely and explore colors in new possibilities. Loving your way to teach how to practice to open our art views. My question is, After you create so many options of papers and color studies, which projects can you make with them, besides stationery or canvas art? Which options can you recommend for us to do?"

  • @PaintedPaperStudio

    @PaintedPaperStudio

    Thank you for your lovely comments. As for what to do with all the papers - well that needs to be it's own series 😂. Seriously though, I've used my painted papers in everything from canvas art and junk journaling to grocery lists. I would love to try to create a decoupaged umbrella with my painted papers, or create origami (if I knew how). I've said before that I'm not terribly "crafty," but the holidays are coming up, and some of these papers would make beautiful gift wraps. But here's the thing Gretchen, I'm ok with just painting the papers for the sake of painting them. If they get used great, if they don't I have to be okay with letting them go. 🥰

    Hi Sheila - Many of my collage pieces are final art pieces. Sometimes I will create a piece that starts with a base of collaged papers and pieces (that's the whole focus of next week's video). Other times I'll add collage papers into a piece in the later stages. Often, I create pieces as inspiration for large works. And finally, sometimes (a lot of times) I just create collage pieces for the fun of it. 🤗
