i remeber there were Dolls of Barbies little Sisters, which were androgenous aside from the Hair, i don´t know if they still make some of these but i think thes would fit as bases for short round cartoon child characters

Those are actually really common sewing scissors. I didn't knew this until I wanted to buy them (the same scissors from the show) and looked in Amazon and everywhere, just to find out that my mom and my grandma both already have it in their sewing kits 🤷🏻‍♀️

For those curious like I was " The cape he wears is actually a WWII nurse cape. An accompanying hat seen in episode 9 is a Civil War Union soldier cap. Wirt's hat is made from what looks like a Santa hat with the fuzz cut off."

he has the cutest little face, i love how he turned out! you really did a great job sculpting and painting his face, i totally get the feeling of stop motion animation, and the outfit is super cute too!

Over the garden wall is criminally underrated. Wirt looks absolutely adorable.

I think your own personal aesthetics really lent themselves well to this “perfectly imperfect” style, the result just feels cohesive so imo it’d be pretty cool to see you take on other projects like it :’)

You could honestly send your stuff to Laika as a resume with how good your details are. Also that you mimicked the style and finish of box trolls; amazing

I love that you used stop-motion as an inspiration! Hot tip: I live in Portland Oregon as a tattoo artist, and have tattooed several people who work at Laika; their next film is called Wildwood and is based on a book that also takes place in Portland! Very woodsy and whimsical story. Sadly, they aren’t even due to finish filming until 2025 :,( Very excited for it, though

The moment I saw the thumbnail, I thought he looked like a classic stop-motion puppet. He's absolutely beautiful.

For the future, with the eyes, you can create eyes that fit snugly in the sockets (so they hold in place) and in the center of the pupil is a pin hole- you then move the eyes using a pin. No internal mechanism needed! Faceplates...well, you have a 3D printer, so you're good to go! I studied stop motion in college (my profile picture is old haha) and fabrication is something I still do as a hobby. It's so much fun.

I think this is my favorite doll you've made so far. You can really see how it's inspired from stop-motion and claymation

The sculpting on the face, even before any paint, looks stunningly similar (in the best way possible, i mean no to be comparative) to something that Studio Laika would create, so hearing that they were an inspiration for it makes it even more like "THIS IS FROM STUDIO LAIKA, WTH!!!" Truly outstanding work, absolutely astounding!!!

I have a strange nostalgia for the Oz books, a set of turn of the century American Fantasy books, and having only seen Over the Garden Wall recently I just feel a wonderful kindred between the more savory parts of the fiction. This has to be my favorite doll you ever made. Looks extremely delicate and indeed sort of "old school". The textures are gorgeous too. And I'll be honest, I'm genuinely happy when doll customization artists do male characters - it's unexpectedly rare.

This is probably my favourite custom so far! The shading is amazing and I love the resemblance to 3d puppets for stop motion films, I hope to see more like these!!
