"Quantum Equivalent" represents a collaboration between Cheryl B. Engelhardt, a composer, pianist, and vocalist, and the Dallas String Quartet. The composition mirrors the journey from a mere desire to its manifestation, achieved by aligning with its frequency - effectively, evolving into the quantum equivalent of an upcoming event, thus drawing it closer. From yearning and clarity to action and transcendence, the piece shadows the strings' journey as protagonists. They unveil the empowering realization that they possess the ability to craft their desired life and were never solitary in this transformative process. By recording the quartet and Cheryl on the piano in one take, no click, the performance was raw and inspired, and the base of the piece that eventually had the addition of vocals recording from around the world (the top of a mountain in the Alps to Sri Lanka!)
