Creating layers in an abstract painting - Mid/late process

The one thing we want when we create an abstract painting is for the viewer to "lose themself" in our painting. Layers add complexity, interest and depth to your paintings and will therefore keep you viewer interested in your work.
When adding layers you want to be as free and honest as possible, because the vulnerability in your strokes is what captivate the veiwer. With that said I want you to know that although you may learn alot from copying, you will never be able to replicate the feeling in someone elses painting. Instead I encourage you to practice creating your own interesting composition using the tools you love and with your own strokes.

What is your design composition? Is it diagonal?

I don't plan my compositions. My process is intuitiv early to mid and I only start thinking about my composistion mid to late process and then I do so by reacting to what is alreay on my canvas.
