    Blender is a serious software tho. Just like all 3D software it has areas where it excels. It’s modeler is extremely robust. I prefer it to the 3ds max one which for me is saying alot because I always used to prefer max.

    what is not artistic about a procedural approach? i think you should watch some stuff from the demo scene. 90% of these demos are procedurally made(or to be precise coded from scratch) to save space since a lot of these demos pack like 10 - 20 mins of demo with high end graphics and sound in real time, in package sizes like 64kb. its just a different approach. its like saying "hearing music on anything other than a walkman is not music"

  • @4myle

    @4myle

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@d3x84 Nothing wrong what so ever, it can certainly be artistic. I have lately seen lots of videos on Geometry Nodes, for example. Really powerful and useful but it seems like people are competing for the "coolest thing you can do procedurally". I find it satisfiying to watch videos with modelling, sculpting and texture painting that is used in a "non planned" way, where art just becomes. His recent video "Creating Ancient Gate In Blender", is an awesome example of that. Personally I will dig deeper into that kind of workflow.

I understand if detailed tutorials is not your thing or too time consuming - but it would be great if you could do a tutorial as to your process and initial setup, camera, early-stage shading, volumetrics, lighting etc and share some gems of knowledge I'm sure you've picked up and employ in your scenes.
