Creating Custom Shapes for Use With the CMU Tools in Tekla Structures

Ғылым және технология

In this video, we will discuss the workflow for creating a concrete item, specifically a masonry unit for use in the CMU Wall Tools. This video covers the process of modeling the shape using native Tekla Tools and using that geometry to create a shape for inclusion in the Shape Catalog. Additionally, we touch on a few tips for creating your own custom library of shapes. Make sure to check out our previous video on the shape catalog and how to manage a custom library of shapes via a company folder: The Renewed Shape Catalog.

Does the complex geometry in a shape like this slow down the model? I have created complex shapes using native Tekla parts as custom components and then found that the model speed was greatly affected after inserting 100's or more of those CC parts.

When I do it as shown in the video, and insert the new shape into the model, the centerline is not in the center... How can I change that? For exmple, I modeled a nut as profile, but added as a shape, the handles are on the side, not the center of the nut..
