I would love to see your TRUE thoughts on Ariana and Taylor. I'm sure you would be attacked by the swift army if they didn't agree. So I get leaving it alone. But they are interesting to me, when you look at the trajectory of their careers, it's kinda fascinating. But I'm a GIANT statistics and math nerd. So maybe that's part of my fascination. Anyway, ❤️ you both! And also hi Bailey!

For me, I think Ariana is talented, but just really..really stupid. She's made the dumbest comments unironically. Though, that doesn't mean she doesn't deserve her fame. As for Taylor, she also has her talents. Overall, I think both of them would gain fame without their nepotism, so the exceeded beyond that.

Tbh I feel like there's a difference between nepotism and privilege. Ariana and Taylor were inherently wealthy and thus it was easier for them to begin their careers (and for Ariana's mom to buy all those records) but for nepotism I think is different. You get preferentially treatment and better opportunities because your parents are already famous/big in the industry. And I think it's important to recognize both, but they aren't the same.

Nepotism is favoring relatives or friends, especially to give them jobs. There's a big overlap between fame and being very rich. While rich people are not known to the general public, they are known to producers, execs etc and have many connections just like famous people. It doesn't really matter if the public knows who your parents are for you to take advantage of nepotism

Can I just say I love and relate so much to the second-to-last tier being titled “Do You Even Want This?”. Growing up, my dad worked in the record industry and has won several songwriting awards. I’m SO glad I never pushed him to start a career in music, and also so grateful that neither of my parents tried to push me in that direction. Don’t get me wrong, I love music and songwriting, but it is just a passion/hobby for me. The songs I write are really just for me and maybe close friends and family. I don’t feel the need to share them with the world and, more importantly, I would NEVER want to be in that industry…it just seems way too stressful (I’m also a pretty bad singer anyways lol). However, my point is that, unfortunately, a lot of the people my dad worked with were always trying to push their kids into music careers. I babysat for one family once and I remember the son mentioning how he really wanted a certain XBox game for Christmas, but instead his parents bought him an expensive guitar and signed him up for lessons (something he didn’t even ask for or want). There’s just something so weird and odd about parents forcing their children into the spotlight just because they know they have “connections”.

I feel like she has a very particular acting style that doesn't really suit blockbuster/generic hollywood movies. She's very well suited for chick flicks and more campy/comedic movies in my opinion, because she plays satire roles very well (such as in scream queens and in american horror story). I think when she's forced to play a very "straight-laced" role, she winds up falling kinda flat because the bluntness of her acting is part of her charm, rather than subtlety and understated emotions.

As a professional wrestling fan, the ways different industries view nepotism is always fascinating to me. Coming from a wrestling family is a form of pride and typically embraced. While people fight to establish their own legacies within the industry, it’s generally exciting to see another family member debut. This compared to the way the film and music industries seemingly do everything in their power to hide their nepotism babies is a weird and stark contrast. Like why not just embrace that you have the resources to get you where you wanna go?

i would love to hear your thoughts on the Maddie Ziegler(?) & Sia......thing? as an autistic person, i was originally super upset with Maddie for taking the role in Sia's film Music, but then hearing about the poor girl crying on set about how she felt she was making fun of us and wanted to stop and how Sia wouldn't let her, i felt horrible. i have FEELINGS about Sia.....

i think noah is so talented and i think her opportunities have possibly been shattered by being overshadowed by her sister who already reaped the rewards before she got the chance so i think she deserves opportunity meets talent but putting her next to ben feels wrong LOL

I agree. She is definitely overshadowed by her sister. But, her songs are somewhat forgettable. I’m sure she’ll get there one day but she’s currently not there. Though I think she should have been out under talent meets opportunity, because she has the talent, she just has the difficult job of escaping her families shadow

I think that being a Cyrus might have done things more difficult to her rather than helping her. Yes, it gave her the opportunity, but she is constantly being compared to miley. But i think she is making something that she really enjoy and make her happy now, and I personally love it, always loved her music, in all her eras.

I agree with this so much. You gotta have talent in some way for me to like you as a nepotism baby. Many of the people I think of are suggestions on this list or the ones I see in the other comments. One I have not seen anywhere but has been popular recently bc of the video game The Quarry is Miles Robbins who is Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins son. I feel like he is a good one and I love the streams he has on twitch which I watch here on KZread when I find them.

I is also literally just found out Emma roberts was related to Julia roberts last night. I was watching a Ted Nivison video and he was talking about a really bad low budget Halloween movie with Eric Roberts (Emma Robert’s dad) in it and my mom told me that Eric Roberts was related to Julia Roberts in someway so I looked him up and also ended up finding out he was Emma Roberts father as well as Julia Roberts brother. He was in a lot of stuff in the 80s and has been in some SUPER low budget movie that seems like someone’s dad hired local kids from a community theater and there parents to act in it. To be fair though in the newest video by Ted about Christmas movies that he was also in some of those younger kids playing elves were honestly serving and seemed to be having the time of their life.

Here's a theory, I would like to know what you think. As you know, the entertainment industries are in large part run by fear, and relationships in said industries are everything. I think a lot of rich, powerful people are afraid of pissing off their rich, powerful, and connected friends (or even strangers) by denying nepo babies the big shot at stardom, even if there is another candidate with far more ability and talent. And, I think this happens a lot more than people in Hollywood will admit.
