Creating a Surface in Civil 3D from GIS Data Part 2

So, you have a .shp file with contour data in it and you need to create a surface from it? Well, look no further, in this video, I'll show you how to do just that as well as show you some of the limitations of this quick method.

    I appreciated this video. In my case, the contour data included two adjacent area shapefiles, so the map import and subsequent query method worked well!

    Great tutorial. Thanks. When I do this, however, I seem to lose the scale and the geolocation of the shapefile and other georeferenced layers no longer match up. Any thoughts on why that is or what I may be doing wrong?

    my data was too large and saved with .mms extention. can you fix that?

    I have created surface following this video - but when I am trying to save it I got message saying "The association between queried objects in the current and attached drawings will not be retained once drawing is closed" - I am not sure what to do.could you please help me Mr Haey?thanksMir
