Great video and hope all is going great with your ch. , your newest additions are definitely what I have been considering for my 1st time Caradina setup . I am going to have everything running and getting a RO unit while I'm currently cycling my awesome UNS 90B that is underneath my 75 community tank . Wood.is really good for the new setup for sure since they really like as many surfaces for biofilm to grow , So if I had the exact same 3 gallon tank I would create something going bottom corner to the opposite and if you want to do the same with the other corners essentially creating two X shapes with whatever four pieces you might have . Then the bottom where you can never go wrong is a decent size of Cholla and maybe a few if you have any. I have been getting mine from the reptile area in PETCO and every once in a while I have found some wicked pieces of their IMAGITARIUM driftwood that are double sealed in shrinkwrap and I have never been able to find the actual specific wood but it is dark , sinks and lots of characteristics. Then I have always boiled both for 1 hr. Still have tannins and that's about it. Take it easy and looking forward to seeing the future vids 🍶

After having the galaxy pinto shrimp for a few weeks I'm happy to report that they are my favorite shrimp I've ever kept! Super cool looking shrimp and they are super easy to take care of. I've never used any hardscape from Petco before. My local stores don't put a lot of effort into their fish or reptile sections and it's really sad to see.

12:59 Legend says those two shrimp still refuse to leave the net. They filed an injunction to stop an unlawful eviction from it.

Haha I'm happy to report that they did eventually exit the net...just after a significantly longer period of time than I could put in the video. Hilarious comment btw ;)

Don't you think a Sponge filter will be much better especially since baby shrimp can't get sucked in and they also love grazing the sponge?

I'm sure a sponge filter would work but I personally hate sponge filters because of their clunkiness and noise level. I ended up placing a sponge cover over the intake of the HOB to prevent the shrimplets from getting sucked in.

For the red galaxy pintos, are they in the same water are the neocaridinia? Very curious since some claim they can be in the same water parameters and some claim the caridinia have to be in RO water with acidic pH. Thanks!

Yes they are. I keep all my tanks running only on tap water these days. I've been keeping the red galaxy pintos in tap water for about two weeks now and they seem to be just fine. Seeing lots of shrimp molts as of lately.

@@SimplyAquascaping What are the parameters you keep them in? Do you dose the tank with ferts? Doesn't Seryu Stone leak KH into the tank?

Isn't that weird how that works sometimes. I'm hoping that the cherries breed in this new setup relatively soon.
