To "seal" it in you would want to make sure to either wipe off or tape off the edges when doing the liquid crystal layers. I know from experience using it in other applications. The base black color and the top coat when bonded will seal it in. If you have the liquid crystal on the way they painted it here and put on top coat, the top coat would just start to peel off eventually. It'd be best to use it just in specific sections or in a design like a hidden "art" layer.

We’ve played with this pigment in the nail industry (a lot of our resins are similar to car top coats) and while it was a lot of fun, we always found it peeled after 2 or 3 days no matter what we did. Did you find the same problem or is it holding up well?

It's 45y that I want to see a car painted like that, thank you. I remember when I was a child playing with a little color changing car that was going from white to red (an viceversa) and asking to my mother if it was possible to have one day a full size car painted with a thermal paint. With that dip, it's even creazier than I have imagined.

You could totally write a message by sticking some copper heat sinks (or any piece of metal) on the inside of body panels, bumpers or the hood ect. Since that'll change temperature more slowly there will be enough of a temperature difference to be a different color
