Jake initially wanted to do this as a “run down” of what to do to make your own safe space/happy place, but fell into habit of guided meditation (albeit a quick one!) with his usual mindfulness role - so if you feel uncomfortable by that, please feel free to skip or speed up the video 😊 ⏩⏩⏩ We’ve added a how to guide in the description so you can follow along at a slower pace! We were also coconscious for this video (we didn’t quite realise how much until we were editing!) This was likely because we filmed this during my lunch break at work last month, so I would have still been around to “jump back into work” quickly. And whilst we side with the research that supports visualisation to combat dissociation, we encourage all of our viewers to stay critically minded; to do their own research where necessary, and most importantly, if something doesn’t feel right *don’t* do it - practice your own self-care. Thank you all so very much for watching/reading this 😊💗 we hope you’re all keeping very safe and well! Jess (& Jake!) PS if you know of any well-being businesses/services that you feel need a shout out, send us an email at multiplicityandme@gmail.com to discuss

I dunno if this counts as a well-being business... Tea always helps me and loose leaf teas are always the best. www.theteaspot.com/ Their Everest Tea Tumbler is my absolute favorite to go bottle. Super cute colors too! Also their customer service is excellent. Bought my first Tumbler from a third party and it had an defective lid. They shipped me a new one free when I contacted them to try and buy a replacement lid.

Thank you. 😊 You reminded me of my safe space from childhood!! This is huge. My childhood home was a scary place for me, and I have been trying to have a positive memory of childhood. My abuser yelled a lot. She couldn't there. I would leave the library with 200 books a week with a dolly. When I was reading, I was learning and that was okay.... so it wasn't me playing around, which was never allowed. This is so huge. Thank you for sharing your truth.

I’ve been doing this for YEARS and never realized this was a “thing”... Hubby and I have been going to the beach for a week every summer and whenever I get utterly stressed, I take myself back to our special place every summer! It makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER! Never realized I was taking myself to a “safe space”... just thought I was being weird!! Thank you for the reassurance this I am NOT being weird... 😘❤️❤️
My happy place is actually two places. One is a little cafe in Italy really early in the morning. The second is a porch with the view of the mountains and a lake or ocean, sipping on coffee and feeling a nice cool breeze on my face.
I was just looking for something "low key" to watch to calm down and this was perfect. Thanks Jake!

Super glad it helped 😄
I don’t have DID but I do struggle with dissociation from other diagnoses. This is extremely helpful. I’m not very good at “sitting in emotion” but hopefully with practice I’ll get better.
Jake and one of my folks would get along great! That take-charge positive moving-forward attitude is exactly them too!
Jake should record a full guided meditation, this was so relaxing. My happy place is a beach, specifically a small cove.
Not usually my thing, but Jake's voice is so comforting. I just had a really relaxing meditation. My happy place is in a forest similar to a childhood camping trip. There was a fountain and statues in an overgrown wood. 💙💙💙
Had to say enjoyed the imagination exercise.
My happy place is like and old bookshop after hours, wooden floors with a little dirt tracked in by costumers. There’s a tall arched window with a big leather armchair before it, a small table beside it. On the table is a hot cup of London Fog, the smell wafting through the air. The sky is a smoky gray and rain pitters against the window. There’s a bit of a chill in the air, a nice contrast to the warm mug in my hands.
I legitimately got triggered an hour ago, and this helped me remove all the tension and and pain I was feeling in my body. Thank you so sooo much! This was exactly what I needed

Everything about jake is just so comforting to me. His tone of voice the way he speaks.... its hard to explain... but anyway loved this video jake! I don't fully know why but as soon as I was in my happy place (a beautiful flower cafe) I just burst into tears... not sure the psychology behind that but anyway...Thanks again! :)
I struggle to meditate and tend to avoid it - but with Jake’s encouraging voice and enthusiasm, I am willing to give it a go! Thanks, mate 😊
Meditation that change my life as I thought deeper into what Jake was saying. Took the advice even for other mental health issues I’ve suffered. Made me cry at the end 🌹 Thank you so much Jess and your system for this 🌹❤️❤️
Thank you Jake for this guided imagery. This is something I’m going to try to incorporate a safe space. It is not completely fleshed out, but I know it would incorporate being in a cozy blanket, probably raining outside, drinking fruit tea, with a lavender/lavender vanilla candle
Ah, man. Watching this while eating a cookie-icing sandwich is unpleasant. I can feel how my taste buds are burning from the sugar, and my stomach feels a little sick. My happy place does not have cookie-icing sandwiches.
Thank you guys for helping me build my happy place. It's a cabin in the woods with wind chimes and an overcast sky in the middle of spring. I have major depression and strong anxiety so this is a tool that I will always treasure. Thanks again.
Thanks to the video I've started practising this on weekdays, thank you so much!
I was really struggling today. Something brought me back to your channel. I'm so grateful 🙏. My happy place is now my trip to New Jersey. I remembered the cold water and the New York city line. Laughing with my friend. And I felt so happy. Thank you Jake! And thank you everyone else for reminding me to push forward.
My problem with meditation isn't that it makes me uncomfortable, it's that it makes me SO comfortable that I always 100% of the time fall asleep lmao
I instantly went to a hiking trail with beautiful greenery and sun peeking through the canopy. My item is a walking stick that gave me a smile and pleasant memories of my dad. Thank you for this, your guidance really helped me, I've never been able to capture a happy place so well and I've done guided meditation before!
I am always happy to see Jake. Watching this reminded me about my happy place. I can't remember why I stopped going there. I think I was afraid that it would lead to more dissociating. I will have to rethink that.
Jake! I cannot keep a smile off my face hearing your voice and seeing your face! School's kept me from watching some of my favorite channels, so I'm just now getting to this. This is everything I needed today. Hugs to all of you!
I love Jake!!
Jake's laugh makes my heart happy. ❤
Always a smile when I see Jake! Wonderful video 😊
My safe place disappeared this past year...but it exists in my mind. It's floating around in my aunt and uncle's pool super early in the morning...staring up into the sky sunrising and birds chirping. Unfortunately, the pool got filled in, but i can still feel it smell it hear it. 🏊
I’ve tired for years to make learning my happy place. This year I am learning a new language and drawing, it’s helping me so much! So far 52 days!!!! Meditation has never and I’m sure, will never be my go to calming method but I can appreciate this as background when practicing, thank you for this!

Thank you for sharing your healing journey with others and inspiring me! Something that has helped me tremendously through triggers is stating “I love the one who is feeling xyz” and focusing on the breath as true well-being.
Meditation is one of our favourite methods to calm. My safe place is a well lit room with windows all around and a beautiful baby grand piano. I love to imagine sitting and playing the piano. Your channel has helped us immensely. Thank you so much for being so open.
Jake, thank you for being so warm hearted and insightful on this topic!
This was a lovely video! I didn't know much about this particular practice. Jake gave a wonderful introduction to the topic, and I found his explanation helpful and easy to understand. I hope you all are doing well!
Wow, I REALLY enjoyed this. Thank you so much for sharing! It was a much needed break from life for a moment. My happy place had a wide expanse of green rolling hills, a warm breeze flowing through my hair, the sun on my face, and I was galloping with no destination in mind on my beautiful black Shire horse, feeling as free as can be🥰
Thank you so much Jake! We used to have an elaborate inner world, but stopped using it years ago. I thought it would help us become more physically conscious, which it has, but I forgot how much that visualization had helped us when we used to meditate daily. I imagined a place near our grandparents cabin, it was the safest place we had and continues to bring us so much comfort. I was washed with a wave of that comfort because this is the first year we weren’t able to go there physically and we’ve missed it so much. Really loved your video! And thank you to Jess for sharing the mindset with Dave channel! Love to you all! ~Adam
Thank you so much for this video Jake (and everyone else

So happy to see Jake talking about something he's really excited about!
Holy shyt Jake man you NEED to do some serious meditation tracks, I was doing the happy place exercise as you talked and it started out as one place but then my mind took me somewhere I never expected but it was much more free of negativity and I am sort of shocked that my mind did that, and also I am doing a wellness year in2021 as well, and am really fighting the negative from taking hold again as I had hit that rock bottom last year in December and needed to build back up, and actually discovered one of my destructive coping mechanisms and part of why I started doing and it was actually because of you all and DisociaDID and Pinata, and Entropy and getting more introspective via you all that has seriously helped me so I really want to thank you and all the others for being so awesome!!!
I used to run alot of guided meditations when I was well now I'm getting better I might be able to start again. Never thought of using the sensation of taste in my meditations I'm gonna start doing that now. Thanks for an awesome video Jake.
Thanks for making such a great video! I'm saving this to re watch later. Also excited to see more mental health recommends!

Hello! I know this vid's been out for a while but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated this. Been so anxious because of chaotic things in my life right now and I really needed this. Hope you're doing well! Thanks again
This is the first time I’ve ever done something like this. I have a very active mind, so I’ll pretend to be a whole lot of people, sometimes even myself in various situations, but I’ve never placed myself in a calm environment where it’s just me and nothing is wrong. It made me cry. Thank you, Jake.

I went to a tree house with two walls missing in the canopy of a jungle. Two long bridges stretch away on either side, one leading off further into the jungle, the other leading down to the beach. There are two cubbies, one with a lamp on top of it, serving as a table, the other with books inside. Next to the book cubby a deep, thin bed with soft warm silky (but homely) sheets and a perfect pillow. I brought along the little stuffed cow that my sister gave to me when I was four. His name’s Cowey. :) I walked down to the beach. I’ve always been afraid of falling from high places and I did imagine myself falling, but then told myself “no, that doesn’t happen here” and strode confidently down the sand where I gently dug my toes in, feeling the warmth of each individual grain. I closed my eyes, feeling the wind blow softly through my clothes and hair. I heard the waves crashing in their steady rhythm, and felt the sun warm the sands around me. I sat, taking in a deep breath, and smiled.
My happy place is a library with a nice outside with the birds tweeting. Thank you so much for making this video! It’s really made me a lot more relaxed and Chill

Hi JAKE! It's great to see you again and thanks for making this video!
I immediately pictured the little grotto area I camp in every summer. It's at a music festival, but far enough away that I can just faintly hear drumming in the background while I lounge in my camp chair and gently doze in the shade.
Our happy place is all my thousands of books and my garden. Thank you for the post.
