You and folks like you make me wish I had followed my heart years ago, bought a small farm, and enjoyed the simple life I used to dream about. I'm about to click over the big 60 and it seems pretty late in the game to make that kind of change. Anyhow, you're charming and calming and thank you so much for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your viewpoint😊 We live way out, not from fear, but from a love for the woods , the hills and hollows. For us it’s a lifestyle of being ready for a bad snow or a the creek coming up. We raise the majority of our food, so we know where it comes from, how it is raised and handled. It’s a rich, wonderful life! Your thought on all this, is why we enjoy your channel so much! ❤

Thank you so much for all you do to show people all parts of herbs and what to do with them. You're amazing and much appreciated! It helps so much that your channel is calm and nit in panic mode. Thanks again!

I had never heard of ramps until a few years ago when some northern friends suggested we go to the Ahesville farmers market to get some. I bought a bunch and loved them. I never knew you could take the bulbs from those and plant them. I will be going back up into the mountains next spring and buying some to plant in my woods! Who knew??? Ramps are not known to us in the southern flatlands

Kaylee, as far as i understand your ramps are like our wild garlic here. Just want to let you know, that you can treat/ferment it as you would make Sauerkraut. Then you can wrap leaves around dried tomatoes and/or half dried dates and pickle that rolls in sweet-sour vinegar with spices. It is possible to can them with spices. With the right spices it smells/tastes like a whole roasted whatever. Also you can pickle/ferment the bulbs in autuumn (if the patch has grown enough). So you can do also with the buds and/or the stems, when the leaves are huge... Warm greetings from Vienna!

Plant some grape and kiwi vines below a mature tree... train the vines to climb. We are in middle of nowhere Saskatchewan Canada. The last 3 yrs have been hell. 3 deaths in less than 3 yrs can drain your soul. Expanded the garden, set up 8ft elkwire. Mostly to keep the goats out but also the whitetail. Planted apple trees, plum, cherry, apricot, gogi berry, saskatoon, raspberry, strawberry, elder berry. Comfry, rhubarb, egyptian walking onion, blue berry, grape vines. We changed our diet, 90% carnivore now. Get rid of the teflon cookware, buy a good set of castiron. Throw away the canola oil, corn oil, soy oil. Everything we cook with is either lard or tallow. In one yr time I lost 20lbs and my wife lost 30lbs....Also do a 48 hr fast once a month. We started a beehive but Im as a dumb AF. Burdock root and dandelion root tea is awesome....love the content. stay safe, stay pure. God bless you all.

Solomon seal is not an onion, but a unique tasting delicious tuber that is also slow growing. It prefers (but not limited to) rocky hillsides, along stone walls and very easy to harvest large quantities quickly. You dont even need to dig the entire plant out, just break off half of the long rhizome which can be eaten or transplanted to immediately double the solomons seal population. There is a giant variety that grows several feet high and so the rhizome is much larger. Its the most important and delicious carb source from the woods. Also, daylilly is very tasty but requires prep time but the carbs in daylilly tubers gives me an energy boost in return, just 1 plant can feed 1 person for supper so it doesnt take much. Solomons seal likewise also is loaded with carbs.

I thought I picked ramps & I picked death comma instead. I chopped them up & put them in my hushpuppies. Everyone got very sick that nite. Vomiting & diarrhea 😨. I looked it up the next day & found that the death comma looks just like the ramps…but it doesn’t have any smell to it. Which at the x I realized, but we had a lot of rain the past few days & I thought maybe the lack of smell was just deluted from all the rain. Anyway, make sure that the ramps u get have a strong onion smell because that’s the only way to tell them apart. 👍

How many plants of each kind of herb do I need to fill per quart jar for my new apothecary? Sorry this is more having to do with your class than this video. I decided the last two days to eat dandelion leaves. I've never done that before. Don't really know what I'm doing with it. Still learning. Thank you for the course. I did the one where there's only like three things to watch then it stopped, but it didn't feel like an ending. Is that really all of it or am I experiencing some kind of glitch? I'm like I'm starving for this type of information. I wondered, what about basil? Okay now that I've got all this off my mind, I'm gonna go back and watch this video because I also love every video you put out. Thank you for everything you do.

Agree this platform is filled with chicken littles, the sky is falling, the sky is falling! I should read that childrens story again because its very entertaining and reminds me of people, everytime I see clickbait fearmongering. There is literally no end of the food you can get, harvest, find, propagate, divide, establish and in years time you will find the forest, the land will feed you. We all need access to the forest so we can help it, humans arent here just to live in cities and consume but we evolved with nature, that is what God wanted from the beginning. We are not to look at nature from behind a glass in a museum but be a full participate. The psychological benefits are tremendous. I received such healing from nature as a child but was so traumatized in school by children raised by TV, back in the 1970s my mom called it "the boob tube" and yeah thats life. Living large, getting outside each day living like our ancestors did has huge spiritual benefits. It feels a lot better and this channel captures some, a small part of that energy, that mentality, that lifestyle, that whatnot :)
