Creating A Crazy Animated Intro | After Effects Workflow
A look behind the scenes at how I created the intro for Inside an Animator's Mind, A student collaboration project. From the design of the character with pencil and paper to more vector illustration, and animation using both Callipeg for frame-by-frame animation on the iPad & Adobe After Effects.

I always wondered how this type of animation was made, and lo and behold. They are made exactly how I expected them to. Quite an enjoyable video I'll admit

Colonoscopy gag had me in tears
Today is a good day. It's a post day from Ben. Watched it the other day and loved it. So many different styles. Question for you Ben. Can you become a motion designer if you can't draw well?
So amazing! Can I ask how long this project took from start to finish?
didn't expect cell animation to be part of this cours. That opens a whole new can of worms for me...
Te amo 🤩
great work! again!

The colonoscopy part 🔥
Omg! Thanks a lot, your content is amazing 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 Btw, love your swetter, where did you buy it? 😬
Awesome have a great day 😎👍
I didn't know Procreate was a part of your workflow. That's cool to see!
So cool to see how much goes on on paper + by sketching before you even open after effects! Did you give the sound design guy the finished video, and had him score something to match everything? Or did he score something first and the animators work to that track?
Hey Ben ur so talented and genius ❤❤

Thanks so much Ben! I’m curious as to how you apply strokes on only the inside of your vector drawing. For example, the lines separating the aliens fingers which stop once they hit the outside of the hand shape.

With trim paths, playing with the End and Offset properties. I guess he animated them too!
Ben, you need to make an awesome cartoon movie. I would love to see it.
Amazing breakdown, thanks! Also sorry to bother, but can we expect the video on your PC build soon? Im planning to upgrade and would like to watch that first :)
Almost as inspirational as Will's colonoscopy! 💡
Nice
Awesome project! Do you recommend Callipeg/iPad to start implementing frame-by-frame animations? I have an Android tablet, but seems the best apps are Apple
@BenMarriott
Жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick! Callipeg is a great app, and I think a clear front runner on the iPad, but I do think the most important thing is having a pen display. Really as long as the software can let you draw frames and see onionskins, that's 80% of the functionality covered. The jump from Android to apple might not be a massive improvement if it's just for the apps.
These are great tutorials thanks. Can you recommend an alternative to 'callipeg' for use on a mac with a tablet? Preferably free.
Hi Ben your all videos are so awesome. Can you teach the methods in youtube please. I cant afford your course yet but Its awesome to watch these tutorials in youtube. But still all of your videos are really awesome. Thank you for teaching for free.
Hi wich playlist should i start for animation?
It's an alien! Maybe alien hands are backwards anyway hahah looked amazing to me!
Can you please tell me if it is possible to set the default slider? Press "Reset" and the value is reset, for example 50
i always wonder how many years these guys spend to reach this level..

looks great but why go into the nose of the "animator" and not zoom into the eye and transition into the brain
