When they bring up the point about having a front and side view, and it reminded me of the first game I ever played that let you edit your appearance, which was Mass Effect. I remember spending SOOO much time working on him, looking at him from only the front, and thinking, "Damn, this man looks heroic" Only to then see the monster I created in the side profile. His face reminded me of the base of a street cone, with the rest of the face pointing outward by a gross degree from the nose.

God I know they’re busy and stressed and I’m sure have gotten some controversy about this series for SOMETHING but I really miss Monster Factory. New ones are literally the only things that I watch that actually gets me to laugh uncontrollably. When I’m in a rough spot I rewatch them. Take y’all’s time of course but man do I miss it. Rewatching them should suffice though

@@joshualuke7003 I guess it could be ableist? Specifically for character creators that don't let you get as silly with the proportions. Laughing at a deformity and labeling people that might look similar as "monsters", but I don't see why that would stop them from doing completely "out there" episodes like with Truck Shepard, the woodworking one, or the Skyrim mini series. I feel like there would be a better way to tweak and continue the series without just getting rid of it completely. I don't even know where I would be vocal about it? Do I tweet at them or something?

I totally understand it's difficult to see people who don't understand ableism well, I'm both mentally and physically disabled, but you shouldn't insult them over it. It comes from a place of not understanding, not hate. The series was ableist, but the solution to completely discontinue it seems rash. I think they could return to it by just doing strickly nonhuman or very absurd creatures- things like the Spore series and the guy made of wood. Calling someone a baby because they don't understand why something is wrong isn't productive at all and isn't going to change anyone's mind; it's simply just mean.

If you play the game properly, Skills almost never go higher than 25. A skill level of 20 is considered to be extremely good and worth changing the entire dynasty over. It takes many generations of constant in-breeding to get skills anywhere near 69, which makes the addition of "nice" even more incredible.

@@Alizudo For what it's worth, I threw some (slightly OP) anime characters into Scandinavia and some of their descendants have wacky stats. One guy currently has a learning stat of 32. Ironically enough, he's only half anime spawn because his mom had an affair with a lustful knight, and is also the only one of his siblings NOT to have the Genius or Intelligent trait! XD Everyone else has a more reasonable learning stat, but I guess he was like "I MUST PROVE MY WORTH AS THE ONLY ILLEGITIMATE CHILD" and just. Studied. Constantly. To be fair, I also made a science cult with all the tenets that are knowledge related, so I think that might be boosting the learning stat of it's followers. Oh, he's 3rd generation anime spawn, just to clarify. To be fair I shoved a ton of anime people into the game because there wasn't anything stopping me from creating more rulers, and it seemed like a good way to start of with a strong gene pool, so that's not exactly playing properly... ^_^'

For those wondering where Monster Factory went Justin said that the character creation engines are getting very real to the point where it feels difficult for them to make jokes about them anymore because it starts becoming laughing at a certain group, example like how they talk about "I dont know how to make funny noses cause that might just be somebody's actual nose and they think we laugh at their nose". I do believe there is a degree of fear in there due to the turn away from the McElroys which happened with Travis in the among us stream, the choice to announce a new tour and so on, that good will is gone and they may just be hyper cautious now. I am sad to see it gone, I binge the playlist for comfort and its sad that every time I come back that therell not be any new material but c'est la vie. Hopefully it does come back though.

I also think there's an element of "they ran out of good character creators." I was thinking through games in my head that might make for a funny/good monster factory and they've pretty much all been done already. I also think it's a safe bet that these videos don't make nearly as much money(compared to the time required) as their podcasts. There's no ad reads or anything on any monster factory videos, and I'd be surprised if they're not mostly demonetized. I'd love more as much as everybody else, but I'd hate for it to burn them out and see their other properties suffer.

I predicted that they would cancel Monster Factory because they're afraid of the twitter woketivists months ago. Sad to see that seems to have come to pass. So now a series that brought a lot of genuine joy to peoples lives is gone because of the pathetic, mean-spirited dickheads that bullied the McElroys into a state of constant apology and egg-shell walking. I hate the modern left so much.

Couldn't they just... I don't know... Change parts of the monsters that people choose? Like, wacky hair and beard combinations with weird colours or bizarre outfits. I mean, depending on how liberal the character creator is, they can make things that couldn't possibly be misconstrued as human - take Sweet Gene or Ja'am, for god's sake. There must be ways around it.

I love when they find something unexpected and go quiet as if they don't want the game to realise what it's letting them do.

This line really resonates with me. I've spent a good amount of time doing really dumb stuff in videogames and this has quickly become my anthem.

it fascinates me when Griffin claims that they've "definitely" made an established character before because 9 times out of 10 he is patently incorrect

Well yeah. As a dad, you feel it is awkward to talk to your kids about murder, but then you find a blood knfie in his drawer, and then he says he is holding it for a friend. And then you've gotta have "The talk".

I'm sad they didn't remark on the fact that Count Beetlejuice-Beetlejuice was *FINALLY cast to hell* at the age of 8 months.

Honestly, props to paradox for making the beard function work so well, even when tacked on to an eldritch nightmare man

The "69 Nice" thing is normally not a joke I find funny but the sheer audacity of them to include that as an Easter Egg set me up perfectly for "Beetlejuice-Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" to make me laugh so hard I literally cried in the middle of lunch.

"Count Beetlejuice-Beetlejuice of Dal soul has finally been cast to hell at 0 years of age" is such a powerful sentence

It's indeed now Dalsland, where i'm from, and you can go visit the ruins of Dalaborg or view a model of what it might have looked like in the local museum. Pretty wild to see it in this video for sure!
