Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a quick tutorial on how to create your OWN sublimation blanks for sublimation. We will cover how-to sublimate on Wood or MDF & Metal. We will also be covering batch presses and discuss which spray works best by comparing 3 of the most popular spray paints on the market.

    When you did the test on the different paints were they all treated with the high heat? I just got a printer and have not gotten any blanks yet. Researching the easiest and cost efficient ways first. ❤

    Yes it does! You can also add press sparkly white vinyl, then sublimate directly on the vinyl. That works great too on canvas.

    I have tried this several times and didn't like the bumpy appearance left on the wood. Yours have the same effect. I now do mine with waterslide works perfect every time and only takes a few minutes, no need for sublimation ink or paper. Good video though this idea works great on tiles as well.

    Yes, it is sometimes hard to find the "sweet spot" to avoid the "bumps" but it is doable. You just have to dial in the right about of pressure, time & temp as all these can differ lightly depending on your heat press. Also, if your wood is rough, sanding it before following the process helps a lot as well. Best of luck to you! :)

    Hi! The link to the laminate and paint used is in the description. This how-to shows you how you can prepare any type of wood in any shape for sublimation using the process described. There are lots of places where you can get wood shapes ~ Amazon, Walmart, Dollar Tree to name a few. You can also use whatever shape you like too 😊 I have several videos of completed projects using these blanks where I provide a list of all materials used in the project. If I can helps in anyway, contact me through Facebook… I’m here to help 😊 facebook.com/DigitalDesignsByLiby/

    Hi! The great thing about this process is that you can get wood from a variety of places. As I mentioned in the video some are from Dollar Tree (like the square planks & metal tags), the round ones are from Walmart and the tags are from Amazon. I do have a couple of other video projects where I provide the source for the materials used in the project. But frankly any wood will do… I don’t suggest really thin, paper thin wood (because it will warp) but certainly 1/8” or more will do. Hope this helps :)

    Can you just send it through a lamination machine? Prime/spray/chalk your item then run thru lamination machine with the lamination cover?

  • @digitaldesignsbyliby3963

    @digitaldesignsbyliby3963

    7 ай бұрын

    No you can't run it through your lamination machine. The laminating process requires temperature of 380-400 with pressure. This can only be accomplished with a heat press or large easy press. Also, the thickness of the wood/substrate will not feed through a laminator. Hope this helps!

My biggest concern is not the laminating of the tags but the sublimation, which requires higher temps than the laminator may generate. Let me know if you try it and what the results were! The spraying is optional. If you want a more vintage look to your sublimation image, you can leave the blank as is (natural wood). Painting the blanks "white" will allow your sublimation design to be more vibrant. The choice is yours :)

    It all depends on the smoothness of the wood (natural wood texture) used. I find that by sanding the wood before laminating helps tremendously. An alternative is to use MDF.
