Create Volumetric Portals In Blender With Simulation Nodes!
Фильм және анимация
Create a Volumetric Portal Simulation in Blender 3.6 using Simulation Nodes. In this video, I show you how to use new simulation nodes to create a portal circle, portal tube point simulation and then convert them to a volumetric effect.

Rad effect. Great tutorial.
haha that part about "this isn't the second time i'm recording this; just saying, you could mix this up" excellent tutorial, thank you!
This is sick AF. Great job 👍👍
If anyone is having problems with there being a giant blocky cloud generated around the portal when rendering, change the material's color ramp to use linear instead of b spline and tweak the sliders until you no longer see it.
Oh wow. This is actually so cool omg
that was awesome 🔥 need more video like this
This is exactly what I needed for my project! Thanks man!!!
This was a great tutorial, seriously, well done!
amazing tutorial straigh to the point and you show me a new side of blender. Glad i found your video
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Thank you for this!!!
Wow I can't believe geometry nodes can give this cool effect good tutorial
very cool, thank you for the tutorial!
That is definitely the best tutorial on KZread. Your channel is very underrated and you should be in top 10 of blender tutorials channels. You've deserved this like and sub with bell. Love u bro. ❤
Your explanation is great, because I don't understand how geonodes work XD. I really enjoyed your tutorial!
Very nice, thanks
Thank you so much
Awesome tutorial bro! Thanks a lot, you're a legend! Proud to see a fellow Sri Lankan brother doing amazing things!! 🙏
lovely tutorial worked like a charm! had to tweak a few settings for 4.0 to get it to work just like this tho
Oh my god : hands up the best 🙌 tutorial .. tho it was a little rushed for the last 5 minutes
Cool😍
Great job bro. Greets from swiss
Great tutorial and great result ! Regarding the kill particle logic, I may be better suited in the simulation loop. If you look closely, you'll see that invisible points remain as long as the simulation goes, you'll eventually run into performances issues. You do delete them, but really you're just filtering the newest particles out of a set of ever expending points. By putting it inside, you'll see in the sheets that the point count goes up, then stabilises, however it looks like that in the case of this tutorial, it keeps on going up and up.

Any solutions to this? I got the same problem with performance after about 300 frames :(

@@user-gp9kd7ux4t Hesitant to pasting links here since it might be flagged as spam but Joey C-quel has a very good video called „Simulation geometry node tricks - Blender“ where they show something that seems to work here at 8:30 (basically using Named Attribute named „age“ instead of Stored Attribute inside the sim zone).
This doesnt work in blender 4.0 😢
Nice! If you where to create a continuous loop out of just the portal movement, what would be the best way to go about it?
Awsome tutorial. One question tho how can I use this in my other projects like do I export it, do I link it or what bc a can't get it to work with my already existing projects?
Amazing tutorial -- any idea why I cant get my portal in focus?
No matter what I do my render looks blurry. I haven't had this issue before.
Did you find a way to use attributes such as age with volumetric shaders? The only thing I've found natively related is "density".
Is there anyway to reduce the speed of the particles themselves. Maybe a color ramp after the noise?
How would I go about making the portal rotate and swirl, kind of like the Wormhole in Deep Space 9?
❤❤❤
hi , may i ask is that anyway to increase the volume resolution?
Hi by any chance can we get the project file for this? On your patreon or something. I’m a film student and we needed a portal and we don’t know much about 3d. This looks perfect for the film.
Hello, after creating according to the tutorial, I encountered a rendering problem. The rendering window effect is the same as the tutorial, but the output rendering F12 has a different effect. The thickness has decreased significantly. What is the problem😩
Help. Is it also possible in cycles?
4:37 Where to find the Node property?? Please help
Great tutorial but please make a shortform tutorial how to make it appear ! Disappearing is beautiful but how to make it appear in a best way?

Hey guys ! Does anyone maybe know how to control at which frame the portal starts instead of at the start of the animation ? I’d know ones I’d really appreciate it ! 🤞🏽
i dont know why, do erxactly same things and on my side getting errors, my ring does not stop after passing 15. It doesnt show any black shadows after adding principied volume etc.. so frustrating

Hello, good afternoon, I want to ask you a question. I have seen a lot of Simulation Nodes, but since I am new, I would like if there is any tutorial to be able to export to a 3D model, either in FBX or GBL, and I cannot export it due to my ignorance from blender, thank you very much, greetings from Spain

Did you ever manager to find a solution? I'm also trying to export this as an .fbx or even an .abc to get it into unity, but it's not working well for me.
where can we pay?
Great thank you so much
What is your computer specs?
maybe its just bugging for me, but all of the captions for the video are in a huge block in the first few seconds of the video
My particles in the portal are growing and vanishing! Where did I go wrong?
is that work only for cycles ?
