Very useful. I am a big fanner of HDR, but I have never tried it this way. Great when you only have one exposure. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Great tutorial, short and to the point. Thank you.
Brilliant video. I'm improving loads of my photos now. Thanks!
I liked the fast speed because I have little patience for long videos, and I just had to replay it a few times. Thanks!
That was helpful mate. Thanks.
Es un tutorial muy muy muy bueno para mejor fotografias.- Gracias por subirlo.
Thank you for your tutorials :)
I think your tutorials are great. Sometimes I feel like it would be just a slight bit better if you slow down for just a second or two. In this video I'm talking about where you went on to use the layer mask. Either way I'll rewatch it again. I know it's really easy for you but some of us need to take our time. Anyways thanks and you got yourself another sub! Keep it up my friend.

There is this gear thingy bottom right of the video. See Playback speed and select x.75%. Personally, I selected +1.75% and I heard him fine.
Very interesting photo editing tips, thanks !!
Excellent! Very well explained, and a great image used in this tutorial! As you said, this technique requires two or more photos taken with the brightness settings, but using just a picture was very creative. Thx very much
Thank you , Quick and precise .
WOW thank you so much. So easy to follow and straight to the point. New subscriber and like. BTW you posted this on the day after my birthday :) :D x

Now it's done on cellphones, in Google Photos in 5 seconds. But I had this video Favorited for many years.
Thanks!
Thanks man !
I learned something. Thanks :) EDIT: I tried this out and it's great. I have a question though - is it possible to combine this process with the little trick for making an image appear to be more 'HD' by usng Gaussian Blur? When I tried this on the image with the layer mask, it just made everything a lot darker, regardless of the opacity of the Overlay layer. I figured that it would be best to export the 'HDR' image first and then work on the Gaussian Blur aspect of it (this produced decent results, I thought, especially when the blurred layer was in Value mode, as opposed to Overlay mode), but I just wondered if you knew of a way that the two processes could be done simultaneously, in the same project? It's not so much of a problem to export etc (if anything this preserves the state of the HDR project which is a good thing anyway) but I guess it might save a little time (and disk space) to do them in the same project. Is it possible?
great,, before enhancing what we should use a JPEG or in a RAW ?
Thanks
Nice video!
that simple? damn bro your good!
that helped alot! ^^ like the accent ;)
This is a great video
sorry. What is the correct way to save an image in gimp, so that when upload to Facebook does not lose quality or look pixelated. Thank you
Thanks! :)
I want all of the photos using in these tutorials. Can anybody help me?
Hello, please explain original image. Was it touched up? I like it as it is.

Amir Mansour Thank you :)
Can one take HDR photos without using any software? I understood that one can set your camera (Nikon d90) with just one shot.
Fantastic video. Great job. However, my only problem is that you should have slowed down a bit and explain each step, so that we know exactly what you are doing. You seemed to have simply breezed through it. A beginner wouldn't understand.

I did ... i got it :) thanks...gimp is pretty hard to use lol
The image you start with is already hdr somewhat.
I don't know what that is, can you show me on google+
Gimp is best
Great thanks. You are a bit too fast for a newbie but got it in the end.
Hi, I'm having trouble getting my brush to be large enough. At the moment it is really tiny. I tried scaling my image down and this does help to an extent, but I don't want to compromise the quality and make it even smaller. When trying to change the actual brush size, when I make it the largest it can be, its still tiny. Also, I can't always change the brush any way as the box stays "gray" like it can't be changed. Hope this all make sense!

TheMikhailaS That's strange. You should be able to change the size of the brush. Try re-installing GIMP (first do a complete uninstall and run a cleaner) see if that's going to fix it. Also how big are the images you are working on?
I'm in version 2.10.12 and I don't see this tool in the toolbox. The icon seems similar to the "gradient" tool -- is the effect available using that tool? It doesn't seem to have the same options.
How do you save it as HDR though? There doesn't seem to be an option for that.
Hello, I am a beginner with GIMP. I have to panoramic pictures that capture my entire farm. I am able to merge the two together but having trouble blending the colors. As one picture is several shades brighter than the other. Also the second picture as a horrible shadow from my house behind me. Would you be willing to assist with me colors and shadowing? Thanks
Great great great
I am so having problems following what you are doing. I have a laptop and desk top computer. As I watch the tutorials on my laptop, I do them on my desktop. You go through this way to fast, can you redo it and slow down so we have a chance to do it and follow along? Please?

Yeah. More like High Static Range since there's nothing dynamic about the range of 8 bits per colour channel. I had to upgrade past Gimp 2.9 to even open an hdr file but it loads fine now. Real HDR is far more interesting and useful than faking it.
This tutorial fails to mention what "HDR" stands for. "High-dynamic-range" rendering or lighting: is the rendering of computer graphics scenes by using lighting calculations done in a larger dynamic range.
it will be so much better if you could slow down !for first time learner it s hard to follow your mouse..! but thank you anyways...it s better than nothing...
Thanks for this simple tutorial! You have no idea for how long I've been looking for a simple tutorial for simple HDR pics! Cheers mate! Here's what made out... janipekka.deviantart.com/art/Paris-455487649
POLSKA :)
This pic is already an HDR...
Alright there! Have you tried - Pycane DSLR Camera Tricks (google it)? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my father shot some cool results with it.
It dont like HDR
Well, that doesn't seem to work for me. You're speaking kinda fast and might be skipping a few steps. While I seem to be pressing exactly the same buttons, it doesn't seem to produce any results. At all. :(
@ShiraxHorizon

not a single step was skipped: duplicate the image (using rightclick) Recolor the lower image as shown (via Colors Menu) Add a Layer Mask to the image above, and use the blend tool on the layer mask (as seen right next to the image) done.
Russian accent
damn ure fast... u need to go slow; half the things weren't working
Could have been a great tutorial but you went way too fast at the end. Thumbs down.
Terrible. Entirely too fast.
