  the fact that they don't enable it by default is just nonsense. Any other software have snap object enabled by default

  I wish they would just add this feature directly. or at least make a way to select the layer boundaries, as sadly this method doesn't work for layers with alpha (you can workaround by making a copy of the layer and removing its transparency, but come on all this extra work just to get guides is silly)

  Thanks, nice & clear. What I was hoping to find though, was how to expand the pattern so there is space between your orange dots (like the basic polka dot pattern but with user "dots"). Thanks anyway.

  The latest version has a bug in it. The creators haven't issued a fix for it yet. At least not one that I've seen on Twitter/X.

  Instead of erasing you should use a layer mask. It adds a second part to a layer, where you can draw on. White is displayed and everything painted black will be removed. It is much easier to trace add sections back in, that you didn't mean to "erase". (I am doing a bad job of explaining it, I'm sure there are many videos about it)
