@@MH_Educate Use notepad to copy-paste code so that no unnecessary fancy things happen in between. Also, if the indent error is just on one line (quite common for the first line or the last line while copy-paste), it may be easier to rectify that manually. Just add spaces or remove spaces to match it with surrounding lines.

However, the basic module installation (to connect your excel file) still remains a challenge today because it fails in some cases due to access restrictions. It can be solved by using the portable version of Blender, but that is not a good commercial solution. Once we get a better solution for that, we can easily create an addon. By the way, thanks for your suggestion 💝

Glad to know that you liked our tutorial. Regarding the width of the bar and the size of your image, it is possible to do that by changing few things in the code. But I think the width is optimum. If you make it wider, it may not look good. See, everything is relative. Instead of making the bar wider, you can use lesser height and bring the camera closer to the bar (change the y-location of the camera, we moved it along x and z dimension, y is not touched, so you can freely move it along y as you need). It will be the same as making the bar wider. You don't need to use a bigger image, you need to bring the camera closer, the picture will automatically look bigger. Now coming to the flags, we did not create a tutorial on how to move the flag along with the animation of the bar. But it is not very difficult to do. You need to fix the flag to the pole by using a hook modifier. Then animate the pole along with the data bar, the flag will automatically animate with it. You should not change the height of the bars because it is automatically driven by the data you feed into the add-on. You have an option to either normalize the input data or leave it as it is in the add-on. In either case, the height of the bar is auto-calculated and the camera is placed accordingly so that the output looks good. Having said that, you can definitely change the bar heights manually after the add-on creates everything. But in that case you need to also adjust the camera position/ movement manually to capture the bars correctly.

Ok, this is a line from the code. What is the error that you're getting? Go to the Window menu > Toggle System Console. It will display the details about the error. I guess your picture file name in the excel/csv may not be correct. Check for the correct name along with correct extension.

Hi, I have checked several cases where people got this error "No module called pandas". The reasons and the possible solutions are so wide-spread based on the source system that I doubt if we can cover them in a video or whether it will be truly useful. It is about failure to install a 3rd party module (that our first script does) - and it can happen for various reasons. So instead, we later came up with the CSV option which does not need any 3rd party module. So it works 99% of the times (in the rest 1% rare cases you can use the portable version of Blender and it will work). We created a video on this 👉 kzread.info/dash/bejne/m2eao9aKmpCciJM.html and added the CSV version for every script that we have published so far. Those are given under the respective videos.

Please let me know on which basis I will access the third script. (I really need it)

That's something that KZread can best answer. But many such channels do get approved for monetization. Whether you create contents with automation or not, is not the issue. Whether it is interesting enough or informative enough, whether it is really appealing for a general viewer, is the question - so your creativity is going to play the key role. We always use some tools or the others to create contents. If you get an audience and they really like your video, I don't think monetization will be an issue. Focus on creating an audience, money will automatically follow you.

1) To customize the material, you need to select a cube and open shader editor. There you can change the color or the material, its shine or roughness etc. If you know Blender well, you can do much more complex things in the shader editor. 2) We have a plan to come up with another script or addon to add flags quickly for such comparison videos, but currently there is no easy way to do that from a csv file.

Hi, you need to create a folder as C:\MyTest and create a subfolder there called Pictures, and keep your logo files there. If you use a different folder, you need to update the same in the script. Yes, it works without any issues with the portable version. Regarding the other error, it is asking for a font file which we have missed. Now we have updated the script and also uploaded the required font file and shared it. Please check the video description once more and download the updated script along with the font file. You need to change the font file location (which you correctly did as I can see, just keep the font file there and it will work smoothly). If still any error, please let us know.

You can use it with LibreOffice as well. The script has two versions - one for Excel and another for CSV files. First export your data into CSV format from LibreOffice. Then use it with the CSV version of the script, it should work.

The script expects a camera called "Camera" in your composition. This camera is present in the scene by default unless you remove it. If the script fails to find that "Camera" it will throw this error. Please add a camera into the scene and give it this exact name: Camera. Then run the script again.

This actually means the first script did not execute correctly. It does not throw an error in the first script because that script did install the required package - but in a wrong location. So the second script fails. It can be corrected, but if you are very new to python and scripting, I would suggest you to use the csv version of our script instead. It does not need any extra installation, it works right with your existing Blender, hence it's the easiest solution. You need to only convert your excel file to csv (Save As in excel and choose the comma delimited option).

Why doesn't it make more than 15 bar? I gave it 49 pen in the excel file, but it makes 15, can you help me?

There is no such limit in the script. If it makes only 15 and then stops, it means it encountered some error at number 15. You can see the error details in the console (Window>Toggle Console) and take a corrective action. Otherwise delete row number 15 onward, and repeat row 14 several times, say 6 more times (because row 14 was processed correctly). Now run the script. If it creates 20 bars, it means - that row 15 indeed had some problem with its data. Please let me know what you find out from this exercise.

The most likely cause of this error is, you may not have access to that folder or the image file does not exist there. Please check for any spelling mistakes. Use a simple location like C:\Test first, if it works you can move things into the proper place. This error has nothing to do with our script, it is a system input-output error it seems.

Hi, are you using Eevee or Cycles? Please use Eevee for a fast rendering. It takes about 4-5 seconds for rendering each frame (or even less if you have a good machine), so for a 1-minute long video it takes 2 hours at max for a basic machine. Usually it takes even lesser time (1-1.5 hrs). If it is taking more time for you, there is probably some problem with your scene setup. And don't render the entire scene at a stretch. Give some rest to your machine intermittently otherwise it will heat up soon.

Blender by default uses Eevee. If you did not change it to Cycles, it is probably already set as Eevee in your case. If it is still taking a long time, the problem is somewhere else. This is an error I saw with corrupted excel files. Are you sure that you're using the correct file with the correct script (excel file with excel script and csv file with csv file - not the vice versa)?

That's a full course character animation - just like tom & jerry and similar toons. Too broad to explain here and it's a long journey before someone can create an animation like that.

Hi Daksh, saw this error. It seems the location where you have your excel file and what you have mentioned in the script are different. Please check the location and the path.

At which step? The first time you run a script after starting Blender, it's going to take some time.

It does show "not responding" msg but it works in the background. Do one thing. Open the System Console before you run the script. Now run the script and switch over to the console window. It will show you the progress, you'll know what is happening, or if anything is happening at all. You will get a better idea when it may finish.

Hi, we have a playlist that covers all Data Comparison tutorials kzread.info/dash/bejne/noue0pmelJfAhrA.html&pp=gAQBiAQB But no tutorial specifically for the floor or the background. These are very trivial and you can create them if you just know the basics of Blender. I suggest you learn the basics and create them yourself. If you are planning to create very attractive comparison videos, you'll definitely need to do a lot of things yourself. Even if you get help on creating basic things like a floor, it won't help you go further in future. Blender is not difficult to learn, you can learn it in a few weeks. Try it 👍
