To avoid the awkward repositioning, copy the colored and black shapes together, delete the black shape, paste the two together in front, rotate together by 180 degrees, then delete the new black shape. Great tutorial.

Dont know really anything about this stuff. Am literally learning AI strictly from great tutorials such as yours. DID notice something w/in gradient that you didnt mention. You can grab gradient points w/in the shape and move them around. Just thought it was cool and maybe worth mentioning. Thanks for your help :)

If you use the Eyedropper tool on that second shape you deleted, it should paint the same gradient without having it erased, copied and pasted :)
