Create a Graded Path Over a Steep Terrain in Revit® | Revit Workflow for Landscape Architects

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This tutorial explains how to create a graded path over a steep terrain using Autodesk Revit® software.
In this example, the path connects a house to a beach. The tutorial covers the following steps:
00:20 Calculating the approximate length of the path
01:39 Placing model lines at equal distances along the path with the LINE SCATTER tool
05:20 Using Environment’s SET ELEVATION command to assign elevation to these model lines
06:38 Creating a help surface from these elevated model lines using Environment’s Topography Tools.
08:29 SHAPE BY TOPOGRAPHY :)
10:45 Grading the path using Environment’s Topography Tools.
15:52 Calculating earthwork quantities for cut and fill.
As a landscape architect or site designer, you know the value of creating a path that not only connects different areas of a site but also enhances its overall beauty. This workflow provides a valuable resource for achieving that goal, offering step-by-step guidance on how to create a graded path over steep terrain. Following these steps, you can create walkways that seamlessly blend into their surroundings.

Thank you very much for this helpful video. I have done a similar exercise using Environment plugin, where a pathway also cuts into the existing topography. So was just wondering if you could perhaps share thoughts on the best way to cut / fill into Revit toposolid along the same pathway with the Environment features (if possible).

Hi- you are very welcome we're glad this helps. With Toposolid we made sure that the Topography Tools will work in the same way, and also added some extra functionality to support this new Category in Revit. Regarding the Cut & Fill calculation the Revit native parameter is still unstable, so we created our own parameter to allow you to continue in the same fashion as before. You can read about it on our blog post and see it in the embedded webinar: archintelligence.com/news/so-what-exactly-is-the-toposolid/#more-4759 I hope this helps :)

In the families I don't see any detail or model lines at all therefore I cant use the line scatter without lines to add - how can I add the lines to my component menu?

Hi - I'm wondering if your plugin helps to solve the problem revit has with warping hatches on graded floors?
