ENVIRONMENT for Revit is a plugin that allows landscape architects to design within the Revit workspace without the need for additional software or any programming skills.
While working at a major landscape architecture firm three years ago, we started trying to integrate into the BIM work environment.
We encountered many obstacles, so we began to research the best way to make BIM a reality for landscape architecture.
Our mission is to make the Revit workflow for landscape architects as convenient and efficient as possible.
To achieve this, we created the ENVIRONMENT for Revit plugin, a powerful set of tools that turns Revit into the best software on the market for landscape and site design.
We provide quality free online learning resources to make BIM implementation for all landscape professionals not only achievable, but fun.

How Can i align a Topo to a floor?
Superb work!!! Thank you for shattering this big confusing box...
Best explanation! I'Ve got it finally!
Glad it helped! Thanks for the comment!
Hi…It’s a great update from Environment .Thanks for this support definitely it will impact on the projects and reduce lot of time. I have a request in planting family which will be useful in coordination purpose. I think it will be good if we can add root ball system in the coming update so it will reduce lot of time in coordination with other utilities for large scale projects. For example:Whenever we place a planting family automatically root ball system also will come with the planting family. In type parameter ,we can choose the size (radius & depth).
Thats a great point and thanks for offering it! The good new is it's on our road map for the coming updates and hopefully will be available soon :)
@@Arch-Intelligence That’s Great…Good work…Thanks
This is amazing!
This is great, Nehama! I’m thinking this tool could be used to design a tunnel also, yes?
Theoretically it is possible however the ability to make an actual tunnel with a void that cuts through the ground is still under development. I can think of a few workarounds in the meantime so feel free to reach out to us should you want to brain storm on this.
Both of the new additions are great.
Is it possible that parameters within the loaded 3D geometry are visible in the type parameters in the type list? It wouldn't would it? because you'd have to map the loaded family parameters to the type parameters of what you're making. meaning, I can't affect the 3D geometry with my spreadsheet beyond the height which is a default parameter of the planting family. Correct?
Great question. We're working on it and currently you are able to assign any type parameter with any column in the data you load in and it should affect the geometry. If you find an example where this doesnt work please contact us at archintelligence.com/contacts/ so we can review and improve :)
Brilliant as always!
Did you say the geoplant is opensource? Can you please link where we can access? Thanks in advance @nehama
HI, we cant find the link now. Will update here in the comments once we have news about this project :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you very much for the presentation. This looks exciting!
Our pleasure!
@10:40 - re:"...is if you acquire coordinates from a geolocated DWG file" - What defines a geolocated file? Does that mean a DWG file with Coordinate System set AND a project location defined by a lattitude and longitude? Or is a geolocated file a DWG file with the coordinate system set only?
Love the functionality. Fills a rather dumb missing link. Mine take FOREVER to process with no way to stop the process once begun - other than force quitting. Pro tips for expediting process or stopping midway? For furniture, I'm getting cut off geometry. Is there a way to get the family "Top" view range to include taller geometry? Also, functionality request for schedules - being able to schedule links to details. This is currently a rather labor intensive process if you use view links. Would be nice to be able to associate a family type with a specific construction detail.
great presentation. As a designer engineer myself I prefer to have my internal origin aligned with the project base point. this way if I have to relocate my project everything is relocated accordingly and the internal origin remains in logical reference to the coordinate system. other than that great video!
Thanks for the feedback! This is indeed common practice, less recommended for site models but definitely good for buildings.
What!!!!
Amazing explanation. Thanks !
Glad it was helpful!
We don't have this plug in, it's expensive
Im sorry to hear you cant purchase a license. We offer a free license for students, and also we offer a free license for Ukrainians.
From the bottom of my heart: THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Seriously, both of these tools have been wishlist for so very long. Move over Land FX, Environment is taking over. Just need irrigation tools and I'll drop 2D CAD
It is our pleasure! Thanks for the amazing feedback. Irrigation tools are on our road map!!!
Best explanation I have ever seen bravo (your web page brought me here) thank you for this, excellent work, am now subscribed.
Best comment we ever got! Thank you, we worked hard to find the best way to explain this complex issue :)
Awesome!
Where i can download content tree Revit?
Hi! Especially with the Rhino you can import you're own tree geometries. Also, we have a 100% free landscape template and a planting warehouse with rich content for the planting families. You can download it here: archintelligence.com/get-landscape-template/ Lastly, Environment 13.0 will include a Planting Family tool which will allow you to create your own quickly and easily :) So stay tuned...
Thank you!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
I know it...but now i understend it, thanx
Thanks for the comment! We worked hard to make it as clear as possible :)
hello, what should I select to do this? As I selected the whole toposurface in revit 2023 , and the whole programme crushed. How should I process?
Hi! It sounds like you should reach out to us with more details so we can help you :) You can reach out through this link: archintelligence.com/contacts/ Thanks!
I do not have the option for toposolid and I have the newest version downloaded. I am using revit 2023
Hi. Toposolids are only available in Revit version 2024 and up.
hi, i have big landscape model as IFC...i need to make model (Irrigation, softscape and hardscape), for this, how to start or follow the rules to work flow, could you please elaborate or suggest to me...thanks.
Hi! We can try and help. What would you say is your Revit level? (Beginner to Expert)
It's possible to hide the cross section lines after the corridor import process?
I'm not sure I understand your question but it sounds like you can do it through the Visibility Graphic Override window, by finding the category they are in.
I don't see that button anywhere? What it's called and where can I find it? 0:44
Hi, you have to have Environment installed to see this. You can get it here: archintelligence.com/download/
@Arch-intelligence, thanks as always for the thorough tutorials! Is there a reason we shouldn't use the `Architecture > Opening > Vertical` tool to split & remove the "disturbed area" from the "EG new" toposolid? From what I can tell, the Vertical Opening method allows us to later change the disturbed area more easily than the Split Element method demonstrated in this video.
Hi Steven, Thank you for your feedback! ❤ The workflow you've suggested sounds interesting. There's no reason why it shouldn't work. Did you try it? Generally, the Split Element in this case is easier to teach and worked better in this tutorial :) Depending on the subject of the demo, we often try to focus on certain aspects and speed through others.
@@Arch-Intelligence Definitely understood! Yes, seems to be working so far, I just wanted to make sure there's not a hidden 'gotcha' that will torpedo my project 🤓
Someone needs to make a comprehensive tutorial explaining how to setup the civil3d model so it can be linked in Revit explaining the survey point and site coordinate point and what clipping vs unclipping the survey point actually does.
Can you make a video showing how to bring the revit building into civil 3D?
We're currently only dealing with surfaces, however you can export it to DWG and bring it as lines.
I have no environment tab
Get it here: archintelligence.com/download/
After apply XML File, I don't see surface, it doesn't show up on screen
Do the Civil3D elements show in the External Civil Data console preview? If not - make sure is it a LandXML file exported from Civil3D. If yes, you might be using a different coordinate system for both projects. If the problem continues reach out to us via this contact form: archintelligence.com/contacts/ When you choose "Tech Support" you will be able to attach a file.
great!!!
its keep calculation failed
These hiccups do occur occasionally. One suggestion would be to test if the function runs smoothly in a different file or on a different topographical element. Sometimes, complex geometry can cause such issues. The good news is, we're currently working on upgrading this feature. Soon, you can expect it to perform even better and be more accurate. Thanks for your patience! 💚
Awsome Work
Thank you
You're welcome
Hello, this tool works with multi-region corridor?. I tried with a multi region roadway design but it didn't work.
Hi Agostinos 👋 Yes, the External Civil Data tools does work with multi-region corridors. If you're encountering a problem, please contact us through this form: archintelligence.com/contacts/ Once you select "Tech Support" as a subject you will have the option to attach the problematic file. We'll look into once you do 👍
@@Arch-Intelligence Ok, i try with other multiregion corridor, it's work!
Hi

Hi BinaryCloudChaser Thank you for the feedback. This video is taken from a live stream - hence the low quality. We believe that keeping the community informed is sometimes better than waiting for the right time to record better quality videos (that moment might never arrive). We value your input though 💝 Feel free to skip these ones. Better tutorials will be available soon!
Quality is important on smartphone i cant read anythink @@Arch-Intelligence
Great videos it would super if you can do a detailed video going through each A.I tool on the Revit banner and how to apply to a real life project (residential) so we can understand how to best use or best practice. We design a lot of renovation of existing landscapes with pools, decks, roof, complex topography and retaining walls, and would value seeing how each tool works in detail. As it is more intense working in a smaller space in comparison to a large commercial space. :) love your work !
Thank you very much Ricky! :) Where are you located? We can get you in touch with the local partners

@@rickyburgess526 In that case we'd recommend Nexsys: www.nexsysit.com.au/ Ramin, their consultant for Revit and Environment is fantastic :)
Thank you for the video, great explainer! In the new Revit 2024 with Toposolids, how does one split a site using a detail line or property line as the cutting guide?
Hi Steve, you're very welcome! As for your question - Once you select your Toposolid, you can use the Split command in the Modify tab. It's a great improvement in Revit 2024. We highly recommend watching this webinar about Toposolids: kzread.info/dash/bejne/io6jq9OOpZDVnKQ.html
Is anyone can help me in my Revit 2024 i can not visualize Environmental, without environmental not useful for topography. Thanks
Hi @malikalam2542. Sorry to mislead you, Environment For Revit is an add-on to Autodesk Revit and not a native part of it. You can find out more on our website archintelligence.com/
I want to add Environment in my Revit 2024, so i can only start learning Topography, please help me how to add?
@malikalam2542, fill the form here archintelligence.com/download/, then download the plug-in, click on it twice and you're done. This will run the installation and add Environment to your Revit ribbon.
Thank you so much! @@Arch-Intelligence Team.
Very Helpful session,
Glad it was helpful!
Is this line dynamic or static? Will it update as the topography changes?
Great question - Yes, with a disclaimer. The line is dynamic, but not in this case since I've copied it. Here's a short video with a bit clearer explanation about the Surface Profile tool: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c31quqWNiLi6drg.html
Hey there, do we have plants families from our package? or could you direct me where to download or purchase?
Hello Hao! Our 100% free Revit landscape and site design template provides the optimal starting point for a more productive, efficient, and terrifically fun design experience. Also, make sure to download the Planting Warehouse. They are both available here: archintelligence.com/get-landscape-template/
Would there be anyway to make this software cheaper?
