Create A Distressed Effect with Inkscape

In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how you can create a distressed effect with Inkscape. Once applied, the effect will make your subject look worn, gritty, and rough around the edges. To accomplish this, we’ll be using the Jitter Nodes extension and then applying a vector grunge texture. For this demonstration we’ll be applying the effect to some text, although this can work with any vector object you’d like, so don’t feel obliged to only use text.
You can download the scratch texture here: logosbynick.com/distressed-ef...

  • @Cardshapedbox

    @Cardshapedbox

    I'm not sure if I understood your problem. I'm guessing you're saying that your circles aren't drawn completely, they appear like they have been "sliced", right? If that's so, when you select the circle tool and draw a circle, in the top toolbar, to the right of the number values, you can probably see four different icons: three slices and a solid circle. That's where you select what kind of circle you want to draw. The three first options are types of slices (which is probably what you're drawing) and the solid circle is the option to draw a complete circle. Select that option after you draw a slice, that will turn your slice into a complete circle. Hope this helps
