    *FINALLY!!* A video that at least fully demonstrates what the manual doesn't, and ironically...without a wordy explanation! Your video is head and shoulders above most of the other "unboxing" tutorials that completely skip over the details. Like setting up the spooler, for instance - I couldn't figure out what the hell the manual was saying, and all other "unboxing" videos (so-called) simply skipped that part. I appreciate you taking the time to show it, and so distinctly, at that. 10/10, would stay here again.

    Got a CR10S Pro from Newark, it turned out to be a V1 (capacitive sensor). The whole V1/V2 thing is confusing, Creality is still selling both and hard to tell which one you're getting. Several serious QC problems out of the box, including wrong/incorrectly installed/broken parts but rather than send back and wait God knows how long, fixed it myself. After a few weeks, still trying to find best way to remove prints. Despite what other videos say, alcohol does nothing, bed in fridge doesn't help. Despite great care, scraped the bed using included putty knife. Tried raising Z offset to *just enough* adhesion might be the trick. Have 2 Ender 3 pros at home that work great, very few problems, but CR10S has been real pain.

    I wish the gantry on the one I bought sat down that easily on the frame. The sides were too tight. Had to run the z-axis all the way to top to get it to fit. Then the roller wheels were super tight of course. Still not sure I have it set up correctly due to this.

    Just got my new printer, started assembly. Got to step one for the Gantry Frame Installation. I've got all the parts but the frame itself doesn't slot in on both sides so therefore the M5X25 Screws don't line up and can't secure the frame to the base. Am I doing something wrong or is it just faulty?

    10:30 so what's the point of the BL Touch and what part of the "auto bed leveling" feature is "auto" if you still have to manually adjust the height of each corner? I wanted to buy a self-leveling 3D printer so that I wouldn't have to trust my own "opinion" on what "feels" leveled. From where I see it, it seems like an added step to the already daunting task of leveling.

  • @nsw8148

    "Bed leveling" is a misnomer. Or a lie, depending on how you look at it. The BLTouch figures out the differences in elevation across the surface and then the controller actively compensates for the variances while printing. At no time does the bed ever get 'leveled' after the gross adjustments you make during your initial calibration.

  • @remowo_

    @remowo_

    The way I think about it is this: you manually bed level before the print as always. Your 6,8,10 hour print begins. After 3 hours or so your bed might need a minor manual leveling because of the shaking. So how do you solve this problem? Do you risk stopping the print and resume? I think this is where the BL touch comes in the field and compensates for this issue and gives a great result for long hour prints.

    You have to set the z-offset to compensate. All the BL-Touch does is meassure its own position in relation to the bed. The nozzle is by no means related to this, it can be at, above or below the BL-touch sensor height and this value needs to be manually adjusted. It's really easy on this machine though, while printing go into adjust (lower rigth corner) and there you'll see z-axis adjustment. Lowering this value will lower your nozzle towards the bed, and it can be quite a substantial adjustment before your printer starts to behave. I have mine set to -1.50.

And I don't understand why I have to level the bed every damn print. Both manually and then it does it automatically when I start to print. Tried going with E-PLA but that just made every print fail and not getting stuck on the bed. The bed that loses its surface when I use the tools to remove the prints once done. I've got it for a few weeks now, this is my first printer Adhesion- Some prints were stuck so much, i barely removed them (it's because i leveled bed pretty alright) I even scratched the bed with included shovel (?), for some reason it has sharp, not refined edges Bed leveling- It's alright, pretty comfortable with big knobs, just be patient and level the bed correctly But, one of the leveling springs not long enough, so it must be really relaxed to level the bed, that's why it can mess up level after some time because of vibrations (I will buy a set of springs in the future and maybe everything will be okay) BL touch- I didn't bought it The main thing in the beginning- Check all the screws and tight them, and then level the bed perfectly I printed something like 8 models now, some of them not great because of bad slicer settings (i'm still learning, and got okay results only from Creality slicer) Honestly, i think ANYCUBIC has nice new printers and they have 0.05 layer, not 0.1 so it's twice as accurate (?) And main thing If you need big prints- go for FDA printer, also you need to polish and refine print afterwards But if you need small print with lot's of details, you need to buy resin printer, and you almost don't need to polish the model

    I bought this printer because it looked like the flagship from Creality, and I had good results using the Tevo Tornado clone of it. There are a few issues I have, there is a bit of mystery on how this printer handles GCODE. It will not follow your GCODE with respect to auto bed leveling and priming, at least when using the touch screen interface. You cannot define your own priming pattern, it will always prime the print head in a pattern that ends on the center of the bed, this is seen at the 15 min mark on the video. There is also ambiguity on how it auto-levels. It will run the auto-level sequence regardless of having the G29 line present. When I first received the printer, I leveled by bed by hand, ran the auto level function in the menu, and added G29 to my GCODE. The extruder ran into the print bed on one side, and ruined the build surface. It could have been a fluke, or it could be that it is double compensating for the auto-leveling if you add the G29 command and auto-level using the touch screen. It has been hard for me to print something with a large footprint and have it be perfectly level. I have since switched to a glass build surface. The printer is also very loud due to the fans that cool the power supply and mother board, much more so than my TEVO clone. While it isn't a terrible printer, for the price they are charging, I would have thought the quality would have been better. I am hoping a firmware upgrade with solve the issues I am having. If you don't mind installing a BLTouch yourself and upgrading the firmware, the TEVO is a good cheaper option, I got mine for just under $300 on a banggood sale.

    @@Rob5ft19in yeah, I’ve been 3D printing for about 18 months, and what they don’t show you in the video, is the cutaway where they swap the benchy from another printer like a PRUSA lol. This thing has got to be one of the most finicky printers I have ever used. Their implementation of BLTouch on the CR10S PRO V2 is the biggest joke. Tech support told me you must level the bed between each print (WTF ???) and that because the BLTouch is so inaccurate, that this is expected behaviour. They have also told me they do not provide copies of their source code because it is NOT open source. Marlin anyone? Lol. Yet in this video, within 10 mins, he has it setup and printing flawless benchies ..... thank god Amazon CS is so great, I’m about to box mine up and ship this piece of junk back. I used an Anycubic i3 mega S for awhile and a printer that costs about 1/3rd the price with none of the fancy add ons gave results that were at least 100x better in every single way. I decided to move to something bigger and first ordered the Anycubic Chiron, but I had something I was working on and needed it quickly, so I bought this, biggest mistake ever and I’ve been farting around with it for over a month. Tech support responses often make you want to smash your head into a wall. You wait for 2 days for a response to a pic of your bed mesh level showing the greatest variance of like 0.08 and the answer you get is “please level your bed” and a link to this video to show me how to do it!!!!
