CRAZY WORKSHOP! - Hotel Room Leather Craft? - Making A Tooled Leather Cuff - Leather Craft

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Making the best out of an extended hotel stay. I decided to pack up my tools and transform my hotel room desk into a mini leather work station. This video documents the making of a decorative tooled leather cuff from start to finish by taking advantage of the space that was available. I hope you enjoy this leather craft video on how to make a tooled leather cuff/bracelet.

As a guy that stayed in hotels probably 200 nights a year for the past 25 years I sure hope that you guys doing leather work are on the first floor! For sure leather crafting is a 100% better choice if something to do than watching television. I like your videos and I like the work that you do. It's always great to see somebody that can still craft something of high quality.

Thank you very much. Luckily the tooling doesn’t require a lot of force so no major noise was made. I hope 🤞

Very nice, Right side up it's the cross of Jesus, upside down is the cross of Peter. Love the idea of taking craft on trips. Be safe, stay healthy and warm. Peace be with you.

Good video. I travel A LOT and also do leather work in my hotel rooms. My set up looks a lot like yours except for a couple bits. I have 2 poundo boards the size of my tooling block. One of which is glued to the bottom of my stone to help with sound dampening. Plus, I also have a piece of carpet that I set my stone on to help a bit more with sound. The other poundo board of course is used as normal.

Cool. I never thought that portable hotel leather craft could be a thing, but it might be more common than I thought.

Seeing this made me imagine you carrying in a bunch of leather and tools while checking in. A bit of time later you emerge in a full set of leather armor shouting, "I. Am. Leather Man." Then you calmly pack up and leave.

Do you find the push bevel is easier than a traditional? I struggle with the mallet and making straight bevels. Are there different applications you use one over the other?

  • @KingdomGloryLeather

It is pretty easy and fast for straight lines. Tight curves would be better with a traditional beveler.
