CRAZY Tug of War in Hunza Valley 🇵🇰
In this Pakistan travel vlog, we're going to check out en EPIC and historical sporting event in Hunza Valley: tug of war! Called darabi in, Burushaski, this festival will show you some unique customs related to the culture of Hunza Valley.
Hunza Valley is a remote mountainous hamlet of the Karakoram Mountain range that Fareed and I are lucky enough to call home. Hunza has it's own unique languages and traditions. In this vlog you'll hear traditional Hunza music, see cultural dances, and of course: see a very lively match of tug of war between two teams.
This event was incredibly fun and I hope you'll be able to feel the excitement as thousands of people from Central Hunza Valley enjoy this local, non-touristy event that is definitely off the beaten path!

Salaam, Samantha. I don't know if anyone else has told you this but you make some stunningly artistic thumbnails. I can't stop smiling looking at your vlog thumbnails alone, especially this one and past few ones. The recent 'Aliabad, Hunza Valley's Mini City' vlog had perhaps the best thumbnail you've ever made. Simple, yet so powerful. It had the power to draw in a viewer and induce a unique feeling of awe! And this vlog's thumbnail, o man when am I gonna stop smiling looking at it!! I think this thumbnail picture is from 5:38 part of the current video where you smile, laugh and scream at the same time (only Samantha can do it the way she does) and I actually replayed that part of the vlog many times and smiled & laughed so hard each time! Watching this vlog at around 12 am and my energy and excitement levels are so high (even when I am done watching the vlog!), thanks partly to your riveting narration and partly to the overall adventurous festival & darabi. Do consider asking the management of the festival next time if you can do the live commentary for darabi in English! I am not joking, you'll do an excellent job! I was also rooting for Aliabad, as I've been fan of Aliabad since your recent Aliabad vlog. But Aliabad will win next time, Insha'Allah. And maybe next time you can show us some rare access to behind the scenes preparations etc of such festivals and how the sport teams prepare too. Love those local Hunza hats with the fur, found an online seller too who has them. Soon will get one Insha'Allah. As usual, loved the drone cinematography! (I left 2 brief comments at your KZread Shorts too recently. Do check them out if you haven't.) And I am really glad that Fareed is adding more of his input to the vlogs, kindly ask him to keep doing so. As for the suggestions for your future content of what you should be travel vlogging about, I am thinking hard & I will let you know after some research. Because I don't think superficial suggestions will be of much help. Also, I have a question that I can't wait to get answered: how do you say 'Samantha The Candid Travel Queen' in Polish and Burushaski?

Thank you so much I've recently changed the style of them completely so thanks for noticing! Great idea about getting behind the scenes - we didn't know about this event until the day before but will try to keep that in mind for the next sporting event or festival! And that's a great term - sadly I don't think some of those words translate though!

The first one is a greeting meaning how are you and the second is kind of like thank you but also used as a term of appreciation as "shukriya na" is also used for thank you. 🙌
