    I am calling Bull Shit. They are caving to preasure if someone wanted to do something illegal. If they cared about thier customers they would offer one with a larger magazine. Unfortunatly they only care about gun grabbers who want ti limit your magazine. If they offered one with a larger magazine, what one do you think would sell more? Maybe we will get lucky and the NRA can ask Trump to take our suppressors away since he doesnt like them. I cant wait for everyone to lose their suppressors because a quintasential new yorker doesnt want us to have them.

    @@chriscontact5857 i cant stand trump, posing as a 2A lover when he is really a gun hater. I wondered about the 10 round legality issue as well. I was under the impression since it is a fitted tubular magazine it wont fall under the proposed ban... I know the ruger mini 14 is exempt.

    +madcow3007 Nothing wrong with a 10 round magazine as long as nobody is forcing you to use one. I mean, in a lot of hunting scenarios you would be limited on round counts anyways so that's not a huge deal, but for target shooting, nothing wrong with 10 either. I've noticed when people have fewer rounds to work with they try a lot harder to hit their targets. But this rifle is clearly more targeting hunters and sport shooters rather than defense. I just wish the barrel was a bit shorter while still allowing for easier reloads with the silencer on it. But that's just me I suppose. I dont mind 10 round capacities either, for me it's mostly about the gun in question for that decision. Like many center fire lever actions only hold 10 at most, some like the .45 Colt and .44 Magnum's hold 8. Likewise most pump action rifles are similar with exceptions to the guns like the Lighting and clones which can hold 15 or so. But in a semi auto, generally more is better. But I find my Ruger 10/22 works just fine with the factory magazines and they are very compact and low profile by comparison to extended magazines out there.

    +madcow3007 Well people who know me who are anti gun know I feel that 10 in a lot of cases is enough. However they also know that I''d fight them tooth and nail if they tried to implement that policy on everyone. When I hear the anti gun argument of "Nobody needs an AR-15 for hunting! Nobody needs a 30 round magazine for hunting!", well they are right on the capacity side for the most part... Nobody is hunting with a 30 round magazine except for varmint and nuisance animal cases. Otherwise, for deer and such you wont see over a 5 round capacity. For sporting... I dont think a 10 round or 30 round makes a difference when it comes to popping targets. One just lets you keep pulling the trigger for longer with less need to reload as often, but depending on why you are shooting, it may be better to work with a lower capacity to try an improve marksmanship and the likes. But again, I believe in free choice there to use what you want. For defense, considering most gun fights end in 3-4 rounds, 10 is still more than enough but to be truthful I dont like to gamble against the odds and you wont know how many rounds you need until the day comes where you need more than "X" amount. I've been involved in a few self defense shootings and so far my experience has been almost 50/50, it's a bit more in favor of the "less" than 5 rounds camp but not by much. But again, you never know what you will need until you need it, so I'm a firm advocate of more than 10 for self defense. Especially in states and areas where multiple home invaders is common like certain parts of Texas, California, and Florida. To me it doesnt matter if they hear that I'm ok with 10 round limits because I already know that they will never be satisfied with that. They will then start saying 10 is too much and want 5, then it will be single shots only, and finally no guns at all which we all know is their main objective. Take the Parkland shootings... done with a 10 round magazine. The kid said he couldnt fit a 30 rounder in the duffle bag and so he used 10 rounders. Personally... I'm a bit of an advocate for 20 rounders myself. While the idea of restriction doesnt sit well with me and I'll fight it, if there ever was a magic number to settle on it would be 20 for me. Rifle rounds are often sold by the box of 20 and in increments of 20 when buying in bulk. 1 box = 1 magazine is my logic, it also keeps a lot of the 7.62 rifles like the G3/HK91/CETME/FAL/M14/M1A, and the likes legal. Even in a defense scenario, I dont see a situation calling for more than 20 rounds and if it does you likely wont be coming out alive or we've stumbled into some sort of civil war/apocalypse type scenario at which you probably still wont come out alive.

    Interesting! The quietest rifle I ever fired was a modified Ruger 9644. That Ruger rifle is a lever action, magazine fed rifle chambered in 44mag. The modification featured an integral barrel/silencer. Just looked like a up sized 10/22 with a bull barrel. Firing sub sonic 44spl out of it the only sound was the firing pin hitting the primer and any noise created downrange at the target backstop..............very impressive!

    I know it's not HRA's m.o., but a close to full length 1860 henry style magazine might work well with a suppressor. You could have the follower tab protrude 2 or 10 o'clock from the magazine, and run along the barrel, in order to keep the wood fore end. you'd gain 6" or so of magazine capacity that way.

    great vid! i wasn't aware of the problems using a loading gate with rimfire ammo and due to that very issue, i suppose i could be ok with their tube fed loading for rimfires. however, i still don't understand why they don't have a loading gate option for their centerfire rifles. tube fed for centerfire is my biggest issue with why i won't get a henry. altho' i really want a henry because i appreciate their quality and being strictly usa made, i still have too many issues with potential problems (and bad ergonomics) with the tube loading system being carried over to their centerfire rifles.

    While a loading gate may not work well with a lever action like that, look at guns like the Nylon 66 or the early Winchester 1903/63 rifles. While those are semi automatic it could be done potentially. But I do believe it would be too complex if I'm honest. Seems like a great little gun, though I wish the barrel was a bit shorter to make it a handier package, but it comes in .22 WMR so I'm a bit interested. Though I must confess I'd rather have their pump action with a threaded barrel like this. But man is that quiet... I dont even hear the gunshot, I hear the hammer striking and the action working. I use .22 Shorts in my pump action sometimes and even without the silencer, it's awful quiet....

    It would be cool if a firearm company could come up with an alternative magazine system so that you can run a full length tube with a suppressor. Maybe a detachable tube system since loading gates won't work with 22lr. I know ruger at one point made a lever action 10/22 variant that accepted regular 10/22 magazines. With suppressors becoming more popular nowadays, they would make a killing if they revived it. I think it was called the 96/22. Its a shame they don't make it anymore.

    So ahh, the guy who introduced the first commercially available version called it a "silencer" and even advertised as such. Wow, the internet pedants that constantly demand that it only be called a suppressor, must be quickly formulating arguments as to why nobody must ever..... EVER!!! call it a silencer.

    I am probably echoing the chorus here but 2 things. 1. So the delay of clack-thwap was not an echo but the report followed by burm smack? Nice it is quiet. 2. Henry rifle - can I send my big boy steel in 357/38 to get the barrel done?

  • @TWANGnBANG

    @TWANGnBANG

    Yes. The "thump" sound is the bullet hitting the berm. Henry does no aftersale barrel threading. You'll have to find a gunsmith to do that for you, and it will be expensive.

    Suppereser, not silencer the only thing you can call a silencer on a weapon is the safety due to is making the weapon completely silent, hence silencer, the noise of the firearm is suppressed because it suppresses the sound but does not make it completely silent. For future reference
