hello Hannah .lots of Love from Malaysia 🌹 Battersea is special to our hearts, interesting facts, it was rebuild funded by EPF employees provident fund , sime Darby property and UK corporation ... Basically our retirement funds invested here and the dividend will be shared by the end of the year . Battersea is our pride and we hope londoners will enjoy the place ❤️

You're right to question whether you'd want to live there. The worst part is you'd have people like Eddie Izzard as a neighbour. Can you imagine him ha ing late night loud parties while you have to get some sleep, if you complained he'd accuse you of being homophones. Such a pretentious has been
The juxtaposition between historical & modern is one of the best things about London. Thanks for taking us with you to this super cool building.
Hello London from Malaysia..I've been London twice 2016/2018 & I really² love it..I ever saw this abandoned power station but never expect Malaysia will buy & develope this place become a stunning place like now.🤗🤩
Great to see such an iconic structure saved not scrapped! Really interesting thanks Hannah. 😊 🇦🇺 🇦🇺🇦🇺♥️
I like the way they’ve left some history in the building, mixing old and new, exposed bricks and some architecture of the old steel variety.
I absolutely cannot wait to see what they've done on the inside! Such an icon! You and the building Hannah, naturally. 😂🇬🇧👌

I am glad you covered Battersea Power Station, this has given me plenty to prep and plan when I venture there with my mum. It looks like a lovely and relaxed area considering the number of visitors present. I may try visiting during the week, hopefully it won't be too crowded. Thank you for the tour and information!
Wow....this was very impressive indeed. Amazing how they have managed to integrate the new with the old so well. Thank you for taking us along Hannah. I found it very interesting and appreciate the fact that you navigated your way so well and even skipped lunch just for us! Busy busy busy...but understandable. The 109 lift experience also looks very cool. Sending you warm regards from South Africa. PS: I liked that scarf!!!
Great vlog Hannah! It is great to see some of these old buildings getting re-purposed instead of getting torn down. You'll have to go back in a few months when all the stores and restaurants are open and show us what it is like. Hope you are doing well!
Visited this place in Oct. the Malaysia Square just at the back of Battersea is stunning. More shops at the back. I quite enjoyed the walk frm battersea tube station. As a tourist Malaysian i do feel they injected some malaysian contemporary condo building feel.
I was one of the many who suggested a visit. And wow they have done it up so well keeping so many of the original features even cranes etc. As a Londoner - no longer live there - I use to pass the power station on the train everyday to London Victoria. Such an iconic building certainly for us, have to visit but am I brave enough to go up elevator 109!

Proud to be a malaysian now because the malaysian company glc has redeveloped this battersea power station into a new level iconic place of london. Congratulations👏👏👏🎉🎉👏👍👍😀😀
Hi Hannah! Omg I remember that run down power station! My husband and I visited London several times between 2005 -2012 & always stayed in the Pimlico area. I recall seeing that station and thinking how very sad it looked. Well now it's just amazing & I can't wait to see it in person one day! So glad they transformed it into something useful and more beautiful than what it was. I'm sure through the years both the shopping center and surrounding areas will only continue to get better. 😉 Thanks for showing & taking us along. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊🌻🍁
Looks amazing Hannah, too think Battersea was always known as the poor man's Chelsea. what a turn around. I remember over 20 years ago having a boot sale in the old wasteland next to the Power Station and people were doing Bungee jumps. What's £9 Billion amongst friends. Those flat prices were off the Charts. I can never understand how in today's climate people can afford to buy them. Chelsea bridge looked in a shocking state, I am surprised they have let it hetnthis bad. Look forward to your next stream Have a nice weekend Hannah and a good week. 👍🏻👍🏻😁

I cycled as a kid in the 60s, many times around that area. What a transformation. The big thing I remember was the smell of coal and generally a run down area. Who would believe the prices of apartments especially next to railway lines. Oh I forgot they don’t run very often these days..,,!!
Hannah, this was awesome 👏. I love how you take time looking at the architecture and little thing’s. Really enjoyed watching this video. 😊💕👍
FANTASTIC vlog Hannah! I love the fact that the building was preserved & repurposed! In Canada they would have knocked it down and built a condo tower. Thanks for this great vlog!

Right Hilda in Canada we know everything down these days and build 50 storey towers on every corner. At least London preserves buildings and has open grassy and other spaces for people to enjoy and people en;joy themselves. Unlike Canada.
Great video thanks. Yep. Over 40 years. I was there in 1987 on my second tunnelling project in London navigating a tunnel machine going from just next to the power station to Park Lane, then Regents Park. Aged 22 then! Before you were born! The recent Tideway project was tunnelled from here as well as the Northern Line Extension. Part of what held the project up was getting planning permission for the Northern Line Extension providing a transport link. I also worked on a gas supply tunnel from Chelsea under the River Thames which was to supply the flats etc. So I keep being drawn back! Anyway in 1987, before health & safety was as important as it is now- they let us have a look round inside after it was decommissioned. Incredible structure. I think it was a japanese consortium then who were interested in developing the area but the property crash of the late 80's and 3 million unemployed put paid to that! Lots of stories I could tell about the works then but too much to put here. The old cranes on the quayside that unloaded the coal will return! Being refurbished. After we finished the tunnel I was on in 1990 -it was off to the Channel Tunnel design team!
I love it. What a great way to recycle a iconic building.
When you said “1987, the year I was born,” I instantly thought I’m old! I was 15 in 1987😂! I love your videos. I have been all over London via your vlogs, and have never actually been there. So when I do get to come across the pond, I will know where to go…straight to Harrod’s!❤

I'm 50, I grew up in Battersea, visited the power station just after it was decommissioned , on a school trip... I then did my GCSE Geography project ( first year of GCSE examinations) on the planned conversion of the power station to housing....so to say it took a while is an understatement. And yes Battersea was rough in the 70's and 80's , bits of it still are.
Hi Hannah, you did a fabulous job showing us this iconic place! I've heard so much about Battersea Station, so I really appreciate you taking us along. Glad you managed to buy a couple of things for yourself, love the scarf, also, I loved it when you said "to be kind" some of the staff are probably new, it's always a good reminder! Really enjoyed going along with you, its always lovely! Thank you so much for sharing, take really good care of yourself, stay well! Lots of love Kathy x 💕
You're a really awesome tour guide! You're so interesting to listen to and explain things in really nice detail. Love the quality of your videos!
Hi Hannah, thanks for the video. I was not aware of this restoration project. I love it when they repurpose old buildings. They are such a large part of our architectural history. I see that happening where I live the last few years and I'm thankful. Have a great weekend! Cheers, John
Great content as usual Hannah!👌👍 It's amazing how they've transformed that iconic building.
Love this Vlog. Thanks so much for taking us along. I enjoy how much you love and embrace your country’s history.
Hi Hannah, I remember when I lived in London for a summer in the 90s, we took a boat trip to Greenwich and passed by Battersea...it was SO depressing!! Now look at it!! Amazing!! Thanks for showcasing this, so nice to see cities doing well 💖

The structural features and the history of the building is so interesting. Hopped off to read about its history . The shops seems run of the mill $$$. Building and renovation is fantastic. That scarf will match your camel colored coat perfectly.
Thanks for sharing the new luxury shopping centre . Hope to pay a visit 👍
That's really cool, I love industrial renovations. Definitely putting it on my list for when I return to London one day! It's great to see the whole area has been cleaned up and can be used now.
My husband and I went there on Friday afternoon/evening (4th November). There are still lots of places yet to open. It wasn't anywhere as busy. Very beautiful plus they are building an ice rink at the moment! We ate at Paris Baguette, it was lovely food and excellent service, can highly recommend. We will revisit again in the spring, hopefully there will be more places open. Excellent place to visit though.

Loved the tour around Battersea Power Station. It’s certainly revitalised the area. Your enthusiasm shines through your vlogs.
Another brilliant video, Hannah! Of course the interior reminds you of the Tate Modern, which was formerly the Bankside Power Station. Also received coal by barge on the river. We went there on a school visit in the 60's, remember being completely fascinated at the time.

Hello Hannah! American here…marathoning your vids…you & your sis…so cute at the teas! I’m a big fan of all things British….I watch a LOT of British produced shows…mostly the older ones, bc that’s what we get on YT. I also watch a lot of art & creative vids (I’m an artist) & travel/sightseeing vids. I’ve lately gotten into watching the Sherlock Holmes TV series w/Jeremy Brett that was produced for 10 years from 1984 - 1994 (and shown during that time on PBS in the US.) He WAS, no doubt, the quintessential Sherlock. Love Mr. Cumberbatch, but I understand that Brett lived & breathed his character, and it shows. I also love the old black & white SH movies with Basil Rathbone & Nigel Bruce 👍. What caught my eye here was that you are in Battersea and that reminds me of the“Landscape Artist of the Year” show shot at The Battersea Arts Centre and produced by Sky Arts network (they also produce “Landscape Artist of the Year, that’s probably my fave bc they go to some of the most iconic and beautiful locations in the UK for the painters to paint. Great show if you’re into art. Enjoying the heck out of your vlogs. You’re fun and energetic. I came to London over 20 years ago (in 2000) with the church choir I was in at the time. Our director arranged for us to sing at some of your glorious historic cathedrals (Canterbury is the only name I recall,) It was an incredible experience 🤩and then we had time to take in some of the big sites/museums and we also did a tour of Leeds Castle…fantastic! Maybe one of these days I’ll get back there…I hope so! 😄
What a great vlog, such a fun place to see! Thanks, as always, for taking us along! Keep up the great work, it’s appreciated! Cheers!

This is the first time i have come across Hannah and her vlogs. I found this video very enjoyable, a beautiful iconic building. I did not realize the BPS was finished, it is a lovely mall but too big, lots of walking around 😅
Thank you Hannah - todays walk was quite exciting and very, very interesting. I look forward to seeing more at a later date

Have been waiting to see this complete for so many years. Thanks a lot for the tour. I have no idea why KZread suggested your channel the first time to me but they clearly know me better than I know myself 😁
Wow! It looks amazing. I used to go past it everyday on the train to work. I don't think I'd want a flat there though, with all the tourists and shoppers getting in the way..
When england or UK people visiting malaysia especially kuala lumpur they were so shocked with huge modern mega malls everywhere in kl. And now they have one as well "that replicate similar in kl".. That battersea power station are stunning. Inside. It does replicates the ones in kl .. By the way that 10:40 performance are combination of malay, chinese, indian and sikh as well i guess..

There are plenty of large, modern malls and department stores all over the UK, especially in London (Westfield etc.).Not sure why you would think this is the first or that they are unique to Malaysia for some strange reason? The mall isn't the impressive thing but more the very substantial development of the once derelict site, and of course the iconic power station building.
Love this 💗combination of old and new it's amazing 👏 thanks for the tour hannah have a lovely weekend 💕
I remember going to see a Cirque du Soleil show at Battersea Power station over 20 years ago. You had to pass through a wasteland to get to the huge tent they had erected for the show. There was talk at the time of Cirque du Soleil establishing a permanent base at the power station. Looks as if they've lost their chance!
I was there on the Sunday. There was no place to eat because they didn’t have enough staff to serve customers , which made for long lines. Bought donuts instead and kept singing Pink Floyd in my head. Beautiful space tho.
This is SO great to see now few months later, def gonna see whilst visiting Londen, Thanks for the great explanation . Wow. 🌷
A cool fact about the build is every new brick was sourced from the original company and ordered from the exact same material of the original, the level of detail is mental and hats off to the development tesm
Loved seeing this. I lived there in 77-78 and always thought that was a scary building but even though I still feel like that I’ll check it out next time I go. In the USA we’ve lost a lot of malls due to Amazon but I hear a lot of people not happy with them now and my local mall was dying but when I go there I see more and more people going back. I always give my business to my local malls because I don’t want them to go away. Thank you for showing places to see in London, I think you do a great job.
Since I discovered Pink Floyd’s “Animals” I was obsessed with this structure. When I visited London in 2010 I had to peak through wooden fencing in order to see it close up. I can’t wait to visit London again and see this new development! x

Amazing Hannah!I loved it! And what a gorgeous and huge shopping center! I like very much these shopping centers architecture made of bricks. It has been a "trend" to transform old factories and huge depots into shopping centers! Here in my city Rio de Janeiro, where I live in, we have at least two shoppings called Nova America and Bangu Shopping which were old factories. I wish you a beutiful friday! 😀😀😀

Thought this was fascinating. I had no idea this was being refurbished - amazing the way the old is integrated with the new. We used to come up to Battersea Fun Fair when I was growing up, (from Kent) and remember seeing the power station.
