When my mother had cancer, she chose hospice care instead of treatment. She wanted to live in the moment and splash out for the first time in her life, and that included shopping at Whole Foods for practically all her groceries (and lots and lots of wine). She ended up living v comfortably and carefree for almost two years 😊

Totally understand your mums thinking, enjoying the time she had how she wanted. I was my mums carer b4 she passed and cooked all her meals. She often said to me at dinner time, she wanted her dessert first. I said mum you can eat what you want in whatever order you want, its your choice. My mum was 81 when she passed and i was just happy that she enjoyed what i prepared, so i didnt care what she wanted to eat first.

It’s interesting how like me Hannah can shop cleverly in low budget stores like Aldi. But hey every now and again we feel decadent in our spending. And suddenly splurge every now and again. Note she examined the Hand made chocolates 🍫, sometimes we have a drive out to Orton , twixt Tebay & Kirkby Steven to visit Kennedy’s Hand made chocolate shop and Cafe Restaurant . Our grandsons used to take a lolly stick because we bought them a fresh fruit puréed chocolate lined ice cream milk shake to take away. Last week fed up of economising , I had a splurge and bought the biggest box of their Home made chocolates. But what the heck . And of course our milk shake . The daughter always orders a box of Kennedy’s hand made chocolates on Fathers Day. Kennedy’s also have a shop nearby in The Lake District . But it’s the milk shakes we need to indulge in too.

Whole Foods is considered expensive in the U.S. too. But I agree that food is generally a bit cheaper in the UK. However buying a home, heating a home, buying Gasoline, and buying electronic items like an iPhone, a PS5, or even a TV is generally quite a bit more expensive in the UK compared to the U.S. 🙂

Very interesting and amusing video today Hannah. American supermarket food prices are nuts. It was $4 for a load of bread in Colorado. I went to Safeway to get what would be my usual picnic sandwich items. At the time those items would set me back tenner in the UK. I'd got about ¾ of what I wanted and did a quick tally. The cost was up to $35. I had to start putting things back for the first time since I was a student. It was SO DEPRESSING! ☹️

More people live in the San Francisco Bay Area than in the entire state of Colorado! 😲 At the local grocery store in my corner of Silicon Valley, a sandwich, chips and a drink is $12 or so, which is about 10 pounds sterling. 🙂

People not living in the UK need to keep in mind the exchange rate to their own currency so what may seem "cheap" isn't. I think the last time I looked (quite a while ago) to convert Canadian $ to UK $ you doubled the amount. So, 6 pounds for 2 cupcakes is $12 CDN, that full octopus would be about $120 CDN and that 547 pound wine would be over $1000. Just some perspective. Still looks yummy and tempting though LOL>

Watching this from Phoenix Arizona while waiting for my Whole Foods order to be delivered 😂 Grocery prices in Phoenix have gone up a lot, so WF prices aren’t that different from the standard stores. I know I could spend less but I’d have to shop around at several stores to find everything so WF ends up being the most convenient. I’m far from rich, but this is my bit of luxury I guess. I’m amazed at the selection you have there. My WF seems tiny by comparison.

Another great vlog....your smile and laugh are contagious. I love Whole Foods and we have a number of them here in North Dallas. But, they have a competitor, Central Market, that nips them at the post when it comes to the variety of fresh meats, and seafood, as well as bottles of plonk. So, I need to spill some beans here. I watch your vlogs prior to having my team's weekly closeout meeting. The participants either join me in the conference room or on an MS Team's session. Post-meeting we go to a bar/pub or restaurant. All 15 people now watch your vlog as I play it pre-meeting. We have now added a bit of a who buys the first round based on the number of times Hannah uses the following phrases - "Oh My Gosh", "Are You Joking", and "Beige Bits". Whoever is furthest from the actual number of uses of the phrase they pick buys the first round. I usually go for "Oh My Gosh" because I love the way you say it. So next vlog - please sneak in 4 uses of the Oh My Gosh!! 🙂Thanks for the time and effort!

Hi Hannah - greeting from New Zealand. I can tell you those truffle crisps that you picked up are worth the money. I buy a 40 g bag occasionally but I make them last four sittings because they are so expensive. And the olive oil biscuits are delicious too - especially if you get the orange-flavoured ones 😊 Have a great week!

Delicious food, great variety! I agree with you dear Hannah! Food in the UK is expensive. Here in South-Africa food is also expensive, but interestingly, our meat products are not at all expensive and it is of the highest quality in the world. Fast Foods are very expensive for the average person and is considered “a treat”.

Hi Hannah, another great food vlog. I have to say I was not shocked at the cost. Here in Australia food is expensive and the cost.of living is high. I paid $5 yesterday for a standard loaf of mixed grain bread and another fiver for a standard bar of Cadbury peppermint chocolate not on special, sooo if you are talking about pocket pinch just do your weekly shop here then you will feel the pain. All as I can say is thank God for Aldi. A loaf of mixed grain bread there yesterday $2.98 but they had no stock. Cheers from Melbourne 😊❤👩‍💼

I enjoyed your shopping trip to Whole Foods. Amazing! Such a wide range and variety of food!! The Whole foods store which is a few blocks from my home in San Francisco is small and not that much variety. People used to call them "whole paycheck" because of their high price, but the quality of fresh veggies and fruit is higher than other grocery stores, so I still shop there. Looking forward to your next video❤️

I think you’re fishing for compliments as your vlogs are always top notch. Your footage and commentary are always exemplary. When in London for a day trip i always go to Fortnum and Mason for a few treats like biscuits and jams to take back on train, but this time I will check out Whole Foods. Can’t afford it, but you can always do a little cheeky treat. I am surprised you didn’t buy any of that sushi as it looked totally gorgeous.
