Hinduism is very far beyond a religion. "Religion" is a western term having a prophet, a one holy book, one theory of God but Hinduism is itself has crores of stories, crores of theories. NICOLA TESLA , EINSTIEN were very fond of Hindu ideologies and have mentioned several times in their speeches, interviews etc. Edit: Guys please leave a smiley to the people who don't agree with us don't argue with them show your Love towards them.

Being myself atheist, I still cannot fathom how Hinduism's Vedic culture was able to comprehend unimaginable things without Telescopes, etc. (if we assume they didn't have access to these). For instance, on one account of Shreemat Bhagvat, they have a perfect narration & story about then King Muchukunda that indirectly revolves around "Gravitational Time dilation effect" (astrophysical term as we know today). Lot of times, I feel guilty to use western term "Mythology" for Vedic philosophy and surrounding stories (minus over the top account of miracles). Definitely we know less than little about ancient Sages, their practices.

Just to clarify, the number of heads described in hinduism for different entities is also not to be taken as literal physical heads. some texts also refers to them as their accomplishments or symbolisms. For example lord brahma’ s 4 heads symbolises the 4 sacred vedas (books) , ravan’s 10 heads are said to be a symbolism of his grasp of 10 mahavidyas (one can only master 1 mahavidya in his lifetime if he puts his blood and sweat in it.) …….these vedas and puranas were written by maharishis(same as monks , but who attained knowledge from gods themselves by their meditation and worships)…..and so many of the knowledge is described in symbolism rather than literal facts by them for the common folks to understand……as of now we understand the sun, moon , galaxies, universe and rest of the things, but imagine a guy 5000 years ago trying to learn about things much more complicated than just planets…..that’s where symbolism was needed.

I'm an engineer, science and mathematics being the sole truths for me. But when I read parts of Hindu scriptures once, I felt as if they're speaking of some really scientific things albeit in a manner which may sound exaggeration. Like for example, Shiva is said to be a calm god who paves way for destruction. Vishnu creates and Brahma is connected to the belly of Vishnu and revolves around him. In atomic physics, Shiva corresponds to neutron: the one which destroys (nuclear bomb), Vishnu corresponds to Proton and Brahma is electron who revolves around Vishnu....

2 interesting stories from the Bhagavata Puran which I found puzzling as a child 1. At one point children where disappearing in Krishna’s Kingdom, Arjun was requested to find them so he asked Krishna to drive his chariot in case he had to go to war. Finally without any luck Krishna said they must be in another loka so he made his chariot rise and they rode to the stars to the Center of the universe where there was a black pit which was a tunnel. Krishna rode into the blackness and threw out his chakra to light the path to the end. At the end of the tunnel was a hole of light they came out in the realm of Vishnu. 2. One time there was a King who kept saying no to every suitor who came for his daughters hand. He only wanted a perfect man. The sage Narada said he should go to ask Lord Brahma so he and his daughter got into his chariot and flew to Brahma Loka. When he asked Brahma which man is the best, Brahma laughed and said in the short time it seemed to you to take to travel here thousands of generations have come and died.

A guru is fantastic. But, what I noticed was one guru will say Orange is good for health. Another will say Apple, another will say Banana. Not all lead to the same destination. The aim of a Truth Seeker is to apply scientific logic and dissect every claim until truth is revealed. Once truth is revealed that Apple is the right path, then subdivide Apple into multiple paths and find if truth is hidden in the skin of the fruit or the flesh of the fruit or the seeds. Once we have a good picture of the Apple, then we draw conclusions. Apply scientific logic and you will be hit with revelations after self-realization. Scientific research is a bonus for spiritual seekers. Sadly, there's nobody to connect both worlds and so I wanna help make the bridge and go. That's all.

For example if we die in this universe, we will be born again (death is not the end) in another one, as the same person to experience the same life we had experienced in the past one (that's why we often feel deja Vu).

Brahma represents the intelligence that created this Universe. Since most of the Vedas is written in a personified way, I guess the 4 heads should have significance like the way you pointed out. But then again Vishnu is the origin of Brahma and all other Brahmas of other universes, which signifies that every other universe has its own laws of reality.

No Jaby, he didn't said "the concept is earth centric" He said that though the true essence of astronomy of the Western world developed when around 700 years ago, it was mostly earth centric or helio centric. But our scriptures clearly defined the mandala structure "the abode of different realms according to the nature of condition of planet" but still were orbiting the surya lok, that is sun. By which means the planets were classified as different types of lokas depending the nature of their terrain and also depending on their "parikrama of surya lok" Which again means orbit around sun. Around 5k to 6k years it was just presented in the written format for the first time. But these principles of practices were being long long ago much more. That's where he is saying we even had the knowledge of sub planets revolving around these big planets which are again revolving around sun. Only difference is though sun was defined clearly as a burning star, but when spoken of the celestial mandal Or the modern day planet structure, then in those days sun was also treated as a planet, but which was orbiting much bigger star. So in that sense one big planet and 8 small planets. One big planet around which these 8 small planets are revolving is revolving around a very large star which is at the centre of galaxy. So that's why in the larger context sun was also called as a graha (which actually means a planet). That's why hindu scriptures have these nava graha system (9 planets) which gives us a very strong and incredible dating system far far perfect than any calendar system in the world, as the early times we had a calculation based on this system.

It is good to see that you took interest in Hindu Mythology because most Hindus do not care much about it. What Swami Mukundananda said is just a glimpse of Hinduism there are many more mind-blowing things given there, like Laws of Newton, time dilation, multiverse, and relative time are given in Ramayana. The description of fundamental particles states in Hinduism much much before the discovery of the atom. I do not believe in the theory of god, rather I am a true believer in science, I am a theoretical physicist, and it's fun watching your videos it like Now just answer to query about considering the earth as a center point of the universe. Actually, it is a misinterpretation of what they actually want to say: In Hinduism, the earth is considered as a reference point to observe all the physical phenomena, like in the present scenario we estimate the age of the universe 13.7 billion years from the earth frame of reference. Similarly, in Hinduism earth is considered as a frame of reference not the center of the universe. To calculate the one year or time to make one complete round of sun various effects considered like tidal force exerted by the moon on earth, and as Gravitation force range is infinite, the impact of other terrestrial bodies on earth motion is also considered and to reduce the complexity of the solution, only for the earth's year calculation it is considered the central point around which everything is revolving, the interesting fact is that it does not affect out the calculation of the earth's year. Otherwise in Hinduism, in many places, it is mentioned that the earth is revolving around the sun, the sun revolves around Milkyway (Aakash Ganga) and this Milkyway is floating in this vast universe. In this way space-time earth goes through will never be revised and that is where Hinduism merges with the current four-dimensional picture of the universe. There are many more things but I hope you would have found your answer. Dhanywaad :)

It's not a mythology, it's history, our culture has alot of oral epic stuff in it, it's just made that way so people will actually be intrested in it and it isn't a stuff to take *literally* for eg : when ravana is said to have 10 heads, it can be taken as he was so smart like he had ten heads, all all the temples we pray ain't just a religious place, it's all related to health benefits and if a belief is made that we should do these stuff in temple people will actually do it but there's a low chance that people will do if it was said to do because it's prescribed by someone, it was a way in our culture to make people do these stuff

There is a saying, that "over time truth becomes legend, and as time goes by legend becomes Myth". Something which cannot be proven in the current scenario is a myth. However, it does not mean that such a thing cannot exist but as it can not be proved we cannot say that this is the ultimate "truth". Hinduism is not a religion because religion takes away your freedom while Hinduism sets you free. It instructs you to ask questions and ask you to evolve in such a way that leads you towards ultimate freedom. I do not believe in God because I strongly believe in Hinduism. So, before commenting on Hinduism one should, study (not just reading) its vast literature, then one should comment. Only listening to some stories and many modified versions of it, please do not ruin the true philosophy of Hinduism. I did Ph.D. in Theoretical physics only because what I learned from ancient literature created a curiosity and interest in the phenomena happening each n every instance and we don't know about it. There is one thing said in Ramcharit Manas "जो नहिं देखा नहिं सुना जो मनहूँ न समाइ" Meaning: That which I had never seen or heard, and which could not be absorbed even in the mind, even that can also be possible. So Hinduism (I am using the word "Hinduism" just for nomenclature) considered all kinds of possibilities we can not think of. In my last post I just tried to explain @jaby about why considered earth as a central point. That's it.

I think you might be confusing Swamiji's explanation regarding how different lokas or realms are situated in the universal plane. In Hinduism, it is believed that apart from the Earthly plane of existence, there are seven realms above us that signify progression towards God and purity and then seven realms below us that signify malice and ignorance, lust and basically hell. Hindus knew way before Western science that Earth is not the center of the solar system but the Sun is.
