OK, the MTS and the Crawl control are different systems. You don't go into MTS then go into Crawl. The MTS is for you to be the one to use gas pedal and brake but with computer assistance for the terrain you select. The Crawl control button is a separate system that once engaged, you don't use the throttle or brake, the computer does all the work. Try using the crawl control without going into the MTS first. It still works.

@@iWubmusic It can be used for that but not exclusively. It stands for Multi Terrain Select. You can use it to help get more traction on difficult surfaces as well as down-hill, up-hill, or flat.

I love these Gen3 Tacomas , love them so much I went out and bought a brand new 2021 Tacoma TRD OR 4x4 in a automatic top of the line last year and just turned 20k miles on the ODO , I love it more today than the day I drove it off the lot with 3 miles on it ….good work !

With all the moisture in the sand, it’s harder to get stuck. Get yourself into some deep dry sand that’s super soft. Crawl Control will still work, I’m sure but it’s a better test of it

Did you use hand break and accelerate to get it stuck or just foot break and accelerate?

What a Video!

If you truly want to be stuck, go to either Glamis or Ocotillo in the summer and drive on the dunes. The sand is finer and dry during thay time, which makes it a really good and true 4x4 test.

I have a question not regarding the video. So I was at a stop in a hill going up. I did not step on the gas in time the truck kind of rolled back and some light came on my truck and when I gas it made like a pop or something was engaging. Do you know what it is? Or is that normal

Yes it is hard to get a tacoma legit stuck in sand! I have a 2022 Sx with the stock all season what I call "street tires" I've buried my truck down to the axles in sand, put it in 4 low with light throttle and it pulled itself right out!

It’s very hard to get stuck in this truck. Took me about 5 tries and that’s the deepest it went 🤣

The truck didnt even look like it was stuck at all, when a truck gets really stuck the center of the rocker panels will be down on top of the sand dirt or mud thats called being stuck, on another day try to get your truck's center rocker panels touching on the sand then you can give it a real test if crawl feature works or not, nonetheless continue with your content buddy✌

Thanks for the comment! I was spinning the wheels for about 3 min total so in this type of sand it was as deep as it’s gonna get

Why does it make so much noise when it’s on crawl control. Sounds like it’s gunna break

Sand, literally the worst thing for any vehicle. Goodbye wheel bearings, universal joints etc! One grain of sand can wipe out a bearing.

THUMBS DOWN for the click bait title: "Crawl Control "Saved Me"..........Ya weren't even stuck to begin with. Hell, you weren't even in deep enough sand to even need to use the crawl control. Anyone with 4WD could've rolled right out of the spot you were in here. Next time, choose a place with deep enough sand to REALLY need the use of crawl control. Other videos do a great job of demonstrating how well this system works. Your video is NOT one of them..........not even close. Me: proud owner of a 1st gen ( 2000 ) Tacoma 4x4 with 3RZ engine WITH the good ole tried & true MANUAL locking hubs that everyone wants so bad.

Wow the picture is kinda click bait with photoshopped mud around the tires...you can drive on that beach in 2 wheel drive to begin with, and you never got stuck except for being in 2 wheel drive. Not the best test of crawl control when all you needed was 4x4 hi 🤓
